Why Didn't Neuman's Powers Work On Butcher Or Homelander? - Explored

The single biggest reason why Victoria died was because she didn't see Butcher as an actual physical threat. That was something that was driven home over and over again across this season. Even after being blindsided and shot in the head point blank Victoria straight up laughed it off and rubbed the boys faces in how powerless they were. When Butcher came in Victoria saw him the same way Homelander does, as a psycho that can ruin her life but not actually harm her. By the time she realized Butcher had powers and was an ACTUAL threat she was already tied up, blind, and Zoey was out for the count.

I feel like the fact he covered her face first made it pretty obvious why her powers didn’t work but ima enjoy this anyway!

She had more chemistry with Hughie than Starlight

I think the original noirs storyline , proves the writers create random unresolved misdirects for no reason .

It has never been stated or shown whether Neuman can pop Homelander. She didn't like her chances because he could laser her faster than she could pop someone. The reason she didn't try it when he outed her though was because that would be a guaranteed lose/lose. If she tried and failed Homelander would fry her and if she succeed on live tv then she would out herself as the one behind the congressional murders.

Plot armor and bad writing. She made their noses bleed including Butcher without being in the room / looking. If Marie can give a heart attack to a bulletproof laser eyed supe Neuman who has more expirience can definitely do that to Homelander who has no defense against such an attack. For added proof Neuman also made a bulletproof chicken explode on the farm to save Edgar. She can also sense blood so how did she not sense that in him?

Her head popping ability is more of a stealth technique. Takes time to build up, and have to concentrate on the target or targets. She didn't have time, to kill Butcher he caught everyone off guard. Homelander would've killed her, before she had the opportunity to concentrate 100% on him. As we saw, how she used her power. She was always in a position, of preparedness and focused on who she wanted to take out. When she fought her former friend, she popped his arm then his head. Unaware of Hughie being there.

the writing in the boys is just straight up bullshyt. scenes happen for shock factor, and no other reason. How the fuck does starlight beat up the shapeshifter in hand to hand combat while the shapeshifter just beat up a hand to hand assassin like kimiko..

If Homelander's head was durable enough to withstand her powers, why didn't she try popping his eyeballs instead? Nobody goes for the eyes in this show (except for Homelander when he blinded maeve and stormfront getting stabbed in the eye)

We might find out in Season 5 that Butcher’s tentacle mutation was just a “dream”.

I think her powers failed because the tentacles attached to butcher covers her eyes before ripping her apart

Yeah it was weird how she was able to cut herself but she was bulletproof acid proof pretty much impact resistant and she was laser proof

My theory is Butcher injected the virus into himself as a human because it wouldn’t kill him as a normal human, but he later took V making him a living version of the virus. I think temp V gage him a tumor and when Billy found out he was going to die anyways, he mix the virus and took permanent V. I have a feeling Shelly was working with Billy during Gen V

Homelander isn't a normal Supe,he is basically a Supe to other Supes And if you bring Maeve she is the one Supe that always trained to get stronger and better,and she STILL is weaker than SB and HL. She was also injected with higher doses of V than basically all. Homelander would withstand Victorias attack. Its possible she would kill him EVENTUALLY but that means nothing,a man can destroy a building given enough time. We can do a lot of things with time

How is she bullet proof but she was cut with a switchblade in Gen v

But Homelander gave her unnecessary Lasik- I think her downfall is that she underestimated everyone.

She is my second favorite character after A-Train and her death felt so cheap. She couldn’t even put up a fight.
