GeForce Now Ultimate 4080 Tier is incredible. I've been testing it for the last 2 weeks and here are my thoughts. The upgrade to RTX4080 is being rolled out as of today (so check the GeForce Now blog weekly to see when a server near you is upgraded.)

Ultimate members will start to see RTX 4080 performance in their region soon, and experience titles like Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and more at ultimate quality. New features are also available now for Ultimate members streaming from RTX 3080 servers, and members will be able to check GFN Thursday each week for availability updates in their regions.

Ultimate members receive three major streaming upgrades. The new RTX 4080 SuperPODs are capable of rendering and streaming at up to 240 frames per second. When paired with NVIDIA Reflex, it makes every moment of the action feel as if it’s on a desktop PC. And 4K gaming goes beyond fast with an upgrade to 120 fps, with support for DLSS 3 and RTX ON. Plus, for the first time, ultrawide resolutions are supported, giving members a wider point of view, at up to 3,840 x 1,600 resolution and 120 fps.

Ultimate members in and around San Jose, Los Angeles, Dallas and Frankfurt, Germany, will be the first to experience the power of these RTX 4080 SuperPODs, starting January 19, 2023. Each week, GFN Thursday will spotlight the newest cities with upgraded servers, so make sure to check GeForce Now blog each week to see which cities light up next on the map.

  • A 4080 PC that gives the same perf would cost around £2.8k. Geforce Now costs £180 a year when subbed on a 6 monthly basis. It would take 15.5 years to make up the cost
  • I had signed up for GeForce now when it was in beta I was quite disappointed laggy and input lag too. My phone carrier gave me a 6 month code for GeForce now ultimate about 2 weeks ago and thought I’d give it a try and wow I was amazed how blazing fast it was. I have a very capable gaming pc with an RTX 2070 Super and I tested the same games running natively then using GeForce now I did not notice any difference it was like I was playing natively. I even tried it on my MacBook Pro over Wi-Fi and mobile hotspot and it worked flawlessly. I now sometimes tend to grab my MacBook to play my games in another area other than my desk
  • This reminds me of the statement, “You will own nothing and be happy” -WEF
  • I used to play Siege competitively on my MacBook via GeForce now years ago before I had my first PC. I can only imagine how good it is now considering how viable it was back then.

I'm thinking of trying this out. I have a 2080 in my system and have been holding off on upgrading the GPU. It's wild that it supports ultrawide displays as well.
  • just had a go on the free version. honestly mind blowing how responsive the controls are. genuinely cant tell the difference between using my pc natively.
  • Should I have reflex on or off with the 240 frames per second??

Just hope there's more AAA games available in the future. Other than that, GFN beats the competition in every way possible.

I was already impressed by the 3080 tier, so I have have very little complaints about the service but I did buy a real 3080 instead because too many of my favorite games didn’t run on GFN.
  • If they had Elden Ring, I’d be interested.
  • $175 2019 Shield Pro. Specs: Tegra® X1+ processor with a 256-core GPU and 3 GB RAM. Android OS but thru GFN, identifies as PC Win 11. Access to all game options. Ultimate Tier specs with Reflex on now allows me to stream 4k UHD 3840x2160. 3080 allowed 3840x2160. 450 mbs Ethernet. Never a hiccup playing Dying Light 2, BF2042.

Been a console gamer for a long time with some PC gaming on the side. Tried Geforce now Ultimate out of curiosity this christmas. Playing on my old Imac 27" with a dual sense ps5 controller. Its mindblowing to me how little latency I get and with everything on Ultra RTX etc. So what is gonna happen with console companies and their cloud gaming? Parity visually with the consoles? Geforce now Ultimate is amazing but it does require very fast and stable internet.
  • I have never used the GeForce now subscriptions when you pay for a subscription do you get to play for as long as you want or are you only allowed to pay for so long
  • Second day using this on my Macbook m1 max and I am blown away! I regretted selling my gaming pc and figured I tried this.. holy cow! 🔥 worth every penny, just make sure you have decent internet speed
  • Ive been wondering how the cloud gaming works for games that can have mod support does it load the files from your system and then just boot that version of the game from their side or do they simply verify you have the game and then send it over as the base game ? Like could we run vortex mod manager alongside the games from cloud as thats all thats currently got me mixed between Nvidia Now or Shadow
  • My setup was Chromecast 4K, ps4 Controller and an old HDMI TV with 1080p. I played Cyberpunk 2077 and it works pretty well 😨
  • I am beyond impressed by GFN and cloud gaming as a whole the last couple of years. Stadia to Luna to Xbox Pass to GFN. All are very good services. Well all but Stadia. RIP beautiful lady Stadia. Google did you wrong young love! I played GFN for a few weeks at free then a month at the mid tier and finally now at Ultimate and wow! Worth every penny of 20 bucks a month. My only thing close to a complaint is i wish they supported more games from Steam and Epic. Random examples being GTA5 and Monster Hunter series. I keep my Xbox pass active for certain games and such but GFN is my new long term relationship...I hope its long term anyways! It plays so well on every device Ive tried. Come on, I can play Cyberpunk and other AAA titles on a freaking old netbook! That is remarkable to a old gamer like my that used to hit arcades every day after school.
  • Omg GeForce Now works beautifully with with reflex enabled. The 4080 tier is the way to go if your gonna take cloud gaming serious. It feels native and thats just crazy to me. I live in a rural area too. The free tier doesn't do justice without the reflex enabled. It's cool to try. But for me, I felt that little toggle bridged the gap from slightly sluggish to pinpoint precision. I really could replace this as my main rig just waiting on the right triple a games....

So if I am planning on getting the Ultimate tier for 240fps@1080p, would it be optimal to get a G-sync monitor? Looking to buying one on black friday
