I like how everyone’s finally appreciating how great Max has been for the past couple years he doesn’t need a perfect car to win
  • As a McLaren fan, I must say you are right: we can't pretend that they are a midfield team anymore, they are a front runner. I don't want McLaren to become like what Mercedes and Ferrari were some years ago when they were winning: top tier cars but a mess operationally, especially Ferrari. Also, I think Lando is one of the best drivers on the grid, but he needs to find that final edge and killer instinct to beat Max on a consistent basis.
  • To this day, I just count myself lucky that I got to watch the 2021 season from start to finish, absolute cinema.
  • I can't understand why people will flame George for making mistakes and "bottling" the win when he doesn't have the fastest car but praise Lando when he has the faster car and gets p2. The way Aldas talked about George in the last video you would think he would at least acknowledge that this is the the second race, Imola being the first, where Lando should have gotten the win but did not. The difference is George went overboard fighting for what could be his only win while Lando couldn't make good of having pole and the fastest car.
  • If you want to compare experience, this is Lando's 6th season, finally has the quickest car, Max whenever he had the quickest car in his 5th 6th season, never missed a shot or barely missed

As a Lando fan, I am baffled that he got DOTD. Made a mistake at the start from pole that cost him the win, how?
  • @CRUISR-ib4nj
McLaren is quicker but max was called a generational talent by NIKKI himself 😅
  • @XavierWavier
Hi Aldas can you make a video about Piastri soon I feel like there might be something interesting to bring up thanks
  • @amallgoodman
So we're just to ignore the fact that Max's start was compromised by the grass? Lando is a great driver, but the pedestal you guys are putting him on is ridiculous.
  • @artbeau1234
I just feel like Lando has a lot of pressure on him. The pressure comes from himself, the team, and the fans. And him not being used to handling p1 at the start of a race.

I don’t know why Norris getting Driver Of The Day rubs me the wrong way so much since it‘s obviously not worth anything relevant with the way it‘s determined…but are people that blind to see that there was no one else to blame but Norris for McLaren not taking home the win? I don‘t expect anyone to vote Verstappen because I get that the majority of people who just enjoy F1 on more of a casual level just see him winning and think it‘s boring but there were so many drivers that deserved some love, especially Hamilton imo who had his best weekend of the season or Russell who gave us a great show defending against Norris…or give it to Gasly because he dragged that Alpine into the points for the third time in a row now, there are more drivers legitimately up for that vote than Norris for gods sake😂
  • @LordWay
I'm torn because Lando has enough experience to be expected to deliver but he happens to be racing a ruthless winning machine.

I'm glad Aldas called put the DOTD. It really is a popularity contest. I think people will start to see just how good Max is.
  • Arm chair expert here. Lando's team messed up his strategy. If he could catch Max on pace, then he should have boxed when Max boxed
  • @dereklush9399
FFS can we please acknowledge the role the cost cap and ATS restrictions are playing!! This far more comvergence than we have ever seen in modern F1.
  • Being disappointed with a P2 and P7 after the years I’ve had as a fan since 2014 is a GREAT feeling
  • @Carlos-ln8fd
Piastri fell back behind a bit this week but I do think McLaren is the best team all around. Not just best car but also the pair of drivers with the best synergy. Still compared to Verstappen's raw talent they need to step it up if they want to win instead of just challenge Red Bull.
  • @wonder-pdl
I completely agree with this take. Lando has always been a really strong driver and good when it counts, but he still needs to work on that element of coping with the pressure that comes with going for wins every race. I think he performed really well in Spain, but it was that one mistake at the start that cost him the win. It's good that he has realistic expectations and is hard on himself because he knows what he needs to do to get to that level that Max is at, but it will come with time fighting at the front this season and I think prepare him really well for 25.
  • @wellbi
I am still unsure if Lando is a future champion-level driver or a David Coulthard kind of competitor. (Nobody is happy to race against you, because you have the skill to win any race when everything falls in place, but not consistently brilliant to win championships.)
