I love The Jeffersons, and the first Lionel was by far the best and itβs not even up for debate. The first Lionel was cool, charming, and quick witted. I also loved that he would break out of character in certain scenes.

God bless Mike Evans who passed at the young age of 57. His talent merited more and better roles than he received. Norman Mailer giving him his walking papers when he asked for more airtime was tragic. Finally after decades of being sidelined he suffered throat cancer, a horrible way to go. Mike was a great talent and deserved better treatment.

Mike Evans is Lionel Jefferson, the original heβs been the beginning since the first episode of all in the family. The first Jefferson appear on screen. They did him dirty in the Jeffersons. They shouldβve had more of a role for him since he was the original character to appear
