I saw Mahogany Rush at Newcastle City Hall in 1977. Amazing concert. Support band Lone Star were great too. Currently playing Barock Project "Skyline "and "Detachment". Such a great band.

This week working my way through the excellent Humble Pie A&M cd box set
  • Will get Lenny White out, bit of a lost gem. Look forward to reviews of Steve Hillage, especially that elusive box set. Saw Hillage in '78 at the Marquee, despite giving it my best punk look at the time there was always room for Hillage😀! Superb gig. Also saw him in Hyde Park '76 supporting Queen.

Hi Phil - many thanks for the steer onto Son Of Man - Gaslight. Purchased it like the good old days, unheard on word of mouth alone but I was certainly not disappointed - excellent album. In a similar vein I also picked up the new Cats In Space live double album which is also excellent!

Man's 'Call Down The Moon' is also an outstanding record and may i add 'The Welsh Connection' as a wonderful album by this heavily underrated band. Budgie's In For The Kill album was ,for me, more of a one sided album with side 1 a masterpiece with Zoom Club (one the band's greatest pieces) but side 2 seemed a little turgid in comparison. However the follow up Bandolier is in my top 5 all-time favourite rock albums. Would also love Hillage's 70's material given a remaster / remix especially Motivation Radio and L....maybe one day. Mahogany Rush also a woefully underrated band with Frank Marino a hero. His 6 hour DVD is magical.

Big Man fan here - Rhinos, Winos, etc is my favorite of their's, too, and I've got them all. I used to see them a lot in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1974 - 1976 era; they were quite popular here; a few shows, their hero John Cippolina from Quicksilver Messenger Service joined them in the fun; some of that can be heard on 'Maximum Darkness', which has Cippo's guitar on the cover....
