I watched at least a half dozen videos before yours and I just couldn't get it. The tool makes a huge difference.

Can't wait to try this!! Thanks for sharing.

Great video, never seen this technique before! Tying eggs looks tricky, and some videos show to use a ton of foam, so I've always just stuck with Y2Ks, but definitely gonna try some egg now!

Haha! McFlyfoam and I had it out several years ago. Now, I use latex gloves to handle the crazy stuff. Oh...and the video is great. Hopefully, the clown egg won't be banned in school districts across the US!

Love it Tim! Just retrieved two dried up high-liters from the waste basket to be recycled into egg-tools. Might be interesting to tie up some of these with a small marabou and flash tail for bluegills. A white or yellow puff with a black center would make a nice eye on a streamer as well. Thanks, Hank

What a great trick as always!

Oh man that was REALLY cool!

Lynch showed me this technique a few years ago, using a hollow Papermate pen. They have the perfect diameter for Steelhead eggs in size 10 and 12, and very cheap to make. We use this technique exclusively for all our egg patterns. I do like the taper of the hackle pliers, which appears to make tying the material on a bit cleaner.

Fantastic way to tie eggs!

I seen a guy at the end of tying the egg pattern he flicked on the vice and it helped between day and night, it made the pattern even out almost perfectly
