PAPA!! Thanks so much for this, I’m so damn glad you enjoyed it! PS - I apologise for the red hair, I lost a bet and it’s more horrifying than the whole film.

As an Australian I loved seeing realistic Aussie dialogue. A lot of horror movies make me cringe with their idea of how teenagers talk. This one felt so real and hilarious at times, like the scene with the two boys at the start. Sounded like my brother!

Just saw this movie today. I think that the concept of the hand giving teenagers a quick high was incredibly done. May be one of the most creative things I’ve seen in years!

RackaRacka’s “We made a horror film” video on their YouTube page documents essentially the entire process of making ‘Talk to Me’. The ending shows the premiere of the film at Sundance, and how elated and in disbelief they are at the overwhelming positive buzz the screening got. There’s a quick shot of the brothers sitting with Ari Aster in the theater, wearing huge smiles discussing filmmaking I assume and it really filled my heart with so much joy for these two. Like they finally made it. They put in the hard work, the stars aligned and it actually paid off for them. Their talent was recognized from the movie lovers to the maestros that create them. Fucking A24 subsequently purchased the film for distribution and a modern horror masterpiece reached a much wider audience. Thanks Hunter for getting the word out on your channel! Go support this film!!!

A24 is absolutely killing it with a track record of putting out absolute bangers recently that give mainstream hollywood a run for its money. We need more AA film studios like it.

I want to see a movie like Madea but where it’s Papa Meat playing every character instead.

"They don't understand what it is they're messing with" is a great premise for so many classic horror movies. These gents really get it
  • @vjzb3
I watched the first 1.5 minutes of this video, instantly paused it and told my girlfriend we had to go see it. We went and saw it yesterday and I'm so glad I got to experience it. It's extremely rare to get to experience such a fresh, well-casted, and intelligently produced horror film. Absolutely loved it
  • @TheZinkieBinkies
I think meat canyon should make a movie I know it’s hard but I think it would be worth it right😅
  • @vittorio177
I've loved RackaRacka for years and It really puts a smile on my face seeing them succeed on this level
  • @enochia
The symbolism in this movie also makes it great. The baby kangaroo at the end haunting Mia really haunted me also. Your mistakes from the past coming alive and haunting you is horrifying.
  • @CheesyBeaver
I honestly wished they dove into the “hell scene” with Mia more… that was such an interesting twist being able to see it from the other side.
  • @thomaslake7978
"They got it. They know exactly what they're doing." Is my favorite thought to have while watching a movie.
  • @cokepickle
The only other youtuber i could see making a legitimate and terrifying horror movie besides Wendigoon is you, Papa. Can't wait for your debut
  • @demspookz8732
The scene where you get a glimpse of what’s happening to Riley’s soul in limbo was horrifying and I loved it. It made me feel something in a horror movie again gad dammit
  • @mikedahuman
Its nice to see horror making a comeback after all those years of paranormal activity knock offs!
  • I’m skeptical when YouTubers make movies, they aren’t usually good but this, it shows that if you are actually talented, it can happen
  • @davidci
Wait, THE RACKARACKA BROTHERS MADE TALK TO ME?! I thought the title was clickbait, but wow, didn't know Youtubers could actually make a great horror film
  • @whypothetical
I can't believe this was made by the same guys that got famous for the Ronald McDonald freak out videos. Those made me laugh so hard back in the day. This movie was really good. All practical effects, original concept, no cheap jump scares, believable dialogue for young people, solid acting, interwoven themes of grief and addiction(?), tasteful homages to other horror films without ripping them off, etc. It never felt like they were trying too hard. A24 made a big risk on a movie made by YouTubers and it paid off.

The ” drowned woman “ was like a metaphor for Mia’s mental state. Drowning in grief and depression. Both are relying on something/ someone else to get them out of that abyss, before they become to weak and have to let go.
