"A cell phone video posted to YouTube this week shows a St. Paul police officer roughing up a black man who was apparently doing nothing more than sitting in the skyway, waiting to pick up his kids.

At 9:43 a.m. on January 31, police were summoned to the skyway in downtown St. Paul's First National Bank Building on a report of a man loitering. The video footage shows an officer asking the then-27-year-old man to provide his name.

"Why do I have to let you know who I am? Who I am isn't the problem," the man calmly replies.”* The Young Turks hosts John Iadarola (TYT University) and Michael Shure break it down.

Young Turk (n), 1. Young progressive or insurgent member of an institution, movement, or political party. 2. Young person who rebels against authority or societal expectations. (American Heritage Dictionary)

The Young Turks (Winner - Best Political Podcast & Best Political News Site of 2009) were the first original talk show on Sirius satellite radio and the first live, daily webcast on the internet. But that is not the revolution.

We are a rare show that combines all of the news that people care about in one place. We are not afraid to talk about politics and entertainment and sports and pop culture. But that is not the revolution either.

The real revolution is in daring to be honest with people. We don't patronize our viewers or lie to them. We have real conversations and deliver the news honestly.

From what I seen, this man was humiliated in front of his children. The police officer made some mistakes here, I hope the black man is alright.

When a cop says "I'm not your brother" that's real hatred.
  • @marybonds152
Im so glad he sued the city . I hate taxpayers always having to pay for racist cops
  • I got held at gunpoint today by the cops because someone said a tall black man robbed a store. So they pulled me over, made me get on the ground, and put me in the back of a police car. All they needed was ONE description tall and BLACK. THANKFULLY THEY LET ME GO.

If he's not charged with a crime, he doesn't have to identify himself.
  • When cops are held personally responsible for their actions (misconduct), this would happen a lot less. Whenever a cop screws up and losses a civil case brought against him/her, it's the taxpayers not the cop that pays the price.

I can't watch stuff like this, it puts me in a bad mood.

This is really sad, I'm so tired of them handling us any kind of damn way,
  • Welcome to Amerikkka 🇺🇸. This has been going on since this country was founded or stolen if you know the history ‼️Unfortunately it won’t change
  • @mari_lovelys
Thankfully he got justice. They paid him 100,000 for damages but imagine all the people who didn't have cameras for this bs.
  • What the U.S. needs are lawyers with ethics, (yeah I know, a lot to ask) and the political clout to stand up to police officers who behave like this.
  • This is disturbing 😔I am starting to have such a dislike for the law enforcement 🤬
  • @edwardjames6070
I know what the cop was thinking. 'you're not my brother, you're the enemy'.
  • @CeeBee781
So, you can be arrested for not telling the police who you are!?!?!
  • @spacelyman9482
This is so sad. They just follow you and bother you for no reason. Something needs to be done about this.
