I like linen blended with rayon/viscose/lyocell. Itโs cooler than cotton/linen blends, but not as cool as 100% linen. Unlike polyester, which is plastic, the rayon family of fabrics is breathable and made from plant fibers. Polyester and other plastics are out of the question for my wardrobe, especially when itโs hot! I do also buy items in 100%, nice, thick, rayon-family fabrics, in addition to its breathability, it has some silk-like properties, like softness and good drape. It was called artificial silk originally and is still called Art Silk sometimes, but itโs not silk. But, quality is really important in thes; cheap, thin rayons from fast-fashion brands donโt wash or iron well, are limp and can pucker like crazy. Zara makes pretty nice rayon items, much better quality than some other fast-fashion brands. I wish brands would go back to making clothes linings out of breathable rayon instead of polyester, I have to rule out anything with a poly lining, and it only costs a penny or two more per garment to use rayon.
