Kennedy ATC always sound like they want to start a street brawl.

The issue with fast talkers, whether ATC, pilots, or ground personnel, is that it is unsafe. Speaking in a moderate and audible tone and pace will eliminate unnecessary repetition and greatly mitigate risks
  • Was waiting for someone to say, “When you talk to me sir you will use my full call sign and ‘be more polite next time’.” 😂 Famous lines from other ATC vids.
  • Kennedy Steve's coping mechanism for the horrendous pressure at JFK was humor this guy's is yelling
  • @paulnic7190
I like to listen to British ATC. Very polite and clear. Also not too fast
  • @AvgDude
Makes me appreciate the thoroughly polite & patient ATCs I deal with in Dallas.
  • @bruceerwin5430
Amazes me that pilots can follow these instructions without stuffing it up

I was an FAA controller for 33 years until retirement. This ground controller could at least TRY to sound professional. It would have seriously helped him and more importantly the situation.
  • @davew7250
You couldn’t pay me enough to do that job.
  • @willie3528
Kennedy will never be the same without Steve.
  • Would this guy also possibly be one of those New Yorkers that is honking in traffic incessantly for no reason??
  • @billb7876
Loved hearing the cheery Aeroflot pilot lol
  • As a controller and pilot I have the luxury of knowing both worlds. 2 things I always tell my students are; 1: You’re talking to 1 person. Controllers are talking to 20-30 so exercise patience unless it is serious. 2: You don’t know the whole picture, don’t ask to “help out” with speed adjustments or other things unless told to do so.

Why people from New York wear their rudeness as a badge of honor is something I will never understand.
  • @TheFlyingZulu
Sounds like this guy picked a bad day to stop sniffing glue.
  • Sometimes controllers need to be firm, but you can do that with grace and professionalism. They don't teach that in New York.
  • @VideoNOLA
The end of my first exasperating day as an ATC at Kennedy would be to leap out of the tower to my death.
  • @rafborrero
"high or low 30s?" should have been asked lol
  • Sounds like that ATC dude woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
