World's first valveless, artificial heart to be rolled out after successful trial

Up to 10 Australians will soon become the recipients of the world's first valveless, artificial heart. Earlier this month, a patient in the US received the new device and medical professionals are hoping it can act as a bridge for people with late stage heart failure.

Unlike other implants, this device, operates on a magnetically movable system - the same technology is behind Japan's high speed trains.
