The PGA TOUR heads to Charlotte, North Carolina this week for the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club - site of the 2017 PGA Championship and 2022 Presidents Cup. This is the sixth signature event of the season, which features an elite field of 69 players. Rory McIlroy returns this week to a place where he’s had plenty of success. He’s claimed three victories here (2010, 2015 and 2021), as well as five top-10s. He enters this week with momentum after winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Shane Lowry two weeks ago. Wyndham Clark will also tee it up as he looks to become the first player to win back-to-back here. This was Clark’s first win on TOUR, and he has claimed two more titles since that victory - including the U.S. Open. Xander Schauffele will also be in Charlotte this week as he hopes to secure his first win. He finished second here in 2023 and claimed T25 or better in 10 of 11 events this season. Others to look out for are Max Homa, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa and Tommy Fleetwood.

When Rory is making those 10 to 15 foot putts, it's over.
  • @TaroZak
Dude loves this place, also a Rory that’s chasing is dangerous 😮‍💨
  • @pelawler15
That was the most unstoppable rounds ive seen all year so far. Rorys swing looks different too. Looks loose and more fluid, not as compact like it used to be. He couldnt miss today.

People talk about Rory not winning a major in 10 years. But this was his 40th professional win.

Love seeing you having fun again Rory ❤️⛳️

Really hope to see him play like that at Augusta, on a Sunday. Best swing of the tour.
  • Greatness isn't just about winning , he's a very likeable and humble man , he has a gift on the golf Course that's mind blowing , I'm sure you have another 1 or 2 Majors in your locker to win ,
  • Wow, this is the best game Rory has ever played, the ball just goes exactly where he wants  it to go,so he can hit birdies and eagles one after the other, Oh spectacular day 5 shot lead,  hitting out of bunker to eagle, throw the ball into the crowd. Well done Mr. McIIroy !!!
  • I hate when people say he's out of it - Rors is still a beast!
  • Xander couldn’t close it again… but honestly nothing was going to stop Rory. The 3 putt par at 7 lit the fuse and he torched the field and the course. Absolute class. Love Rory at the top of his game. His driving was next level all week. Come on Valhalla and the PGA!
  • PGA stepping their game up with the camera angles / effects -- love to see it esp that dedication at 3:32 mark. give that man his flowers

Rien n’est jamais perdu. Tout est possible quand on a sa volonté de vaincre . Bravo Rory !!!!

What an amazing career. So many people bad mouth him, but this is one of the greatest golfers in history no matter what anyone says. I was rooting for Xander and still believe his time will come, but big congrats to Roy. Really tough to beat a jaggernaut like Roy. That now makes 2 victories in 2024 alone, Wells Fargo Championship & Zurich Classic of New Orleans. He has 26 U.S. PGA victories and 10 international wins for a total 36 career wins. Absolute beast and frankly a super humble guy. I still think the PGA Tour did him wrong, but I think Rory made a conscious decision to focus on his game and enjoy it, despite the bad blood. I also think the innovative TW & Rory golf league is going to expand and grow moving forward!
