When looking for a budget gravel bike, the Poseidon X was a clear choice for me when selecting my first gravel bike. At only $750, this light weight, high quality gravel bike will leave you questioning how Poseidon they even make money!

Be sure to let me know down in the comments any question you have about this bike. I will follow up with a review and answer any question you have once I get some time in the saddle.

  • Looking forward to hearing more about this bike. Great review.
  • You found a great bike. I too have a Posiedon X, and I couldn't be happier. I did change out the chainring for a 42t and went with Rene Herse Barlow Pass tires since I do a combo of gravel and pavement here in SE Michigan. Enjoy.

Great video bro!! The review is great!! The bike looks amazing!! Looking forward to seeing this bike more!!
  • Nice review on the bike. I bought the Poseidon x in matte black in Feb 2022. I, like you was looking for a good bike with similar features. You are right on with not many other quality bikes out there under the $1500 for what you get with the poseidon. I had mine assembled by the bike shop to make the gearing and any other adjustments needed that i have no clue about. I love it...
  • @bikeguyhk
well produced review. definitely deserves more views👍🏼
  • I'm picking up one this month! Hopefully I'll see you around the Michigan trails. :-)
  • This is going to be my next big purchase. I’m replacing/upgrading from 18 year old road bike. I wanted something that would still be great on the road, maybe fast enough to hang with a group but probably not race. But I also wanted the ability to run wider tires for gravel. Maybe even add a 650b wheelset down the road and have one bike to do it all.

I can probably answer any questions about this bike. I’ve had mine for almost 2 years and love it. It’s my favorite bike despite being the cheapest. Recently I added the xplr suspension fork and it’s a game changer. Works 100% with the frame with minimal front geometry changes. I did opt for their 650b kit as my bike is a small and I’m used to my 27.5 mtbs.

Thanks for this. I have been seriously considering this bike. I currently have an old Trek 830. This would be my first drop bar. I was concerned about size being 5'10" as well (with a 31.5" inseam). Figured I'd need the medium until you mention going with a large. Now that you've had it a few months, do you still like the large size?
  • Love this bike, been riding it since december and i love it as been my first gravel bike
  • Im thinking about getting into biking. I'll be mostly on back roads and gravel and I'm thinking this would be the best option. I don't plan on doing long rides either. Probably 10 miles at most for a solid workout. I currently jog 2 miles a day and I think a bike would help break up the monotony of my cardio workouts
  • Sweet bike and video! I was totally wrong on what it was going to be XD
  • Just purchased one of these in flat bar configuration, only because that's all they had in stock. I debated the Redwood but wanted the lighter weight. I would like to go wider tires or maybe even 650b setup. I'm going to try 700x40 rear and maybe 700x45 front as I do hit some sandy sections as well. I have a fat bike so I thought between the two bikes I should have a setup for any riding I normally do. Any advice on more off road worthy tires and sizes would be appreciated! Great review!
  • Just update mine with some gravelking tires, gonna run it good this summer.
  • Giving the X serious consideration for my first drop bar bike. I want something that will do well on pavement and gravel so this one seems like a solid option.
  • @tjcorbs
Nice video. My X is arriving today! Are you running this stock or doing any immediate upgrades? Enjoy the ride!
  • Hey, any update on your X review? Been eyeing one but curious what you think after a few months of riding one
  • It looks like a great bike for sure but I went with a Giant Roam. For $950 there’s really no upgrade needed. Maybe a carbon fork? It comes with flat bars, 1x10 Deore, hydraulic brakes and professionally built.
  • Looks good. What area was it filmed? Is that the Eastern United States or up by Wisconsin?

I got one last year and it is very enjoyable to ride. However, Poseidon had to cut some corners to meet their price point. I can live with the uncomfortable saddle, and I am not upset over the fact that my 39 year old Trek has more paint left on it than my X. Honestly, the only short cut that really got to me were the very(very) bad tubes . They say Kenda on them so maybe Kenda screwed Poseidon. Anyway, the frame fork and drive train are just fine, and it only cost another $10 to replace the tubes(Walmart was the only real time option) so eventually I will have repaired or replaced enough parts to trust my X.
