  • I was a resident of Paradise, California on 11/08/18 when our entire town burned to the ground in one day. Chico is only 20 miles away or so from us. I feel the pain residents are going through in that area once again. My thoughts are with them.

The man that pushed the burning car should get life in prison.

About 33% of California's land, or 33 million acres, is forestland, making it the second largest state in the country for national forest land, after Alaska. Of that, 58% is federally owned, 40% is privately owned, and less than 3% is owned by the state

Expected to burn at least a month? That's just insane.

What a disaster! Those poor animals and people, all that life-giving forestry. My heart breaks.

I cannot beleive this disaster is all because some crack head pushed his card down a canyon.

Monday morning cooler with a dew point. I hope this helps the fight.
  • I’m supposed to be moving in three days. School can be postponed. It’s the air quality and campus community I’m concerned about. It doesn’t feel right to be worrying about my senior year and grad applications as the fire has destroyed large parts of my community 😢

The fire is a horrible thing but it can create eerie scenes of beauty, like the garden sculpture of a horse fully engulfed in flames 8.00 (right side)
  • @Sparklfoot
I hope we can hear more about the fiend who started this.

Moving forward, get an r.v. When the fire comes, drive your home away. Same with hurricanes. Can be insured. This happens every year.

And they rebuild in the same manner (match sticks covered in plastic) - I specialize in fireproof, high performance/low energy, affordable, no maintenance, highly disaster resistant housing/buildings - that most all the building departments fight. Whatever.

people running to save themselves but leave their animals behind trapped in cages, to the people who do that... I hope karma is not kind to you.

I feel like they should install a sprinkler system all around cali and when a fire is spotted sprinklers that are close will go off making the ground wet and also putting the fire out depending on how big it already is
