A Day in the Life of a Japanese Capcom Game Planner working on Street Fighter Six in Osaka Japan. This is everyday Japanese work culture and work hours for a Game Developer at Capcom, one of the top video game companies in all of Japan. Founded in 1979, Capcom has been a pioneer in the game industry for over 40 years, now with about 2900 employees all working together to develop iconic multi-million selling title franchises like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and one of my childhood games, Street Fighter. Tsuyoshi himself has working on the latest version, Street Fighter 6, for the last 5 years, as a Game Planner. Japan is interestingly unique in Game development as the job title Game Designer is rare. Instead, the job title of Game Planner really only exists though the roles are more or less the same. Most likely because in Japan, the “Designer” title is thought of as a person who focuses more on visual aesthetics like drawings or graphics, while a “Planner” is involved in the entire creation process. Today we will follow the Game Planner from morning until evening to show what he does from when he wakes up, what he does at work and what he does when he finishes work. This is his working hours in Japan along with all the tasks he is responsible for in his job.

  • First Square Enix, now Capcom. Paolo has really levelled up his interviews. 👍🏻
  • Your videos are why YouTube exists. Love the insider info and professionalism!
  • He has a surprisingly well balanced life for a young Japanese corporate employee. Good to see that he truly enjoys his work.
  • @luqman_azeem
Paolo, as a game designer working in an under-developed sector in the industry - I can't emphasize how much this content is appreciated! Thanks!
  • @Patterrz
I've never seen anyone get such access to a Japanese game studio before, the behind the scenes look is absolutely amazing
  • Paolo has definitely outdone himself. The content is continuously getting better and more versatile.
  • @aussieONCE
I absolutely love the battle hub. The idea of walking around playing with players and getting to know them, creating rivalries, playing with the same person verusing the same character constantly is so enjoyable. Tsuyoshi did an amazing pitching the ideal and him and his team who brought his idea to life have made something so profound i'd expect to see this in future games with huge improvements. Well done Tsuyoshi!
  • @michaelbread5906
That guy def has some important character vibes. Not the main character, but a really beloved side character. Reminds me of L from Daeth Note.
  • I couldn't believe Paolo was able to film inside Capcom!!! I think this is my favorite one so far in the Day in a Life series 💓
  • Paolo has taken feedback seriously. Not only has he done normal japanese people's day in life, he outdid himself with this. I am still waiting for Japanese school teacher, Native English teacher, street racer, hairstylist/barber, doctor, nurse, etc. Good job.
  • @kamiyyn_1
Paolo is and will proabably always be my favourite interviewer honestly. He acts so friendly and doesn't try to push to much with the people he interviews, leaving them personal space but also getting them comfortable around him. One of my biggest dreams is to go to Japan and i've also been learning the language for almost 2 years. Watching his videos makes me feel like i'm already there and they are just SO interesting! :)
  • @jayringo77
SE and now CAPCOM!?! Amazing...you truly are among the top ambassadors for Japan. Congrats on making this happen!
  • @thomasji7614
The GOAT series with the GOAT game right now, Street Fighter 6!!! So crazy to see Paolo getting this video with Capcom with the perfect timing with the release of SFVI~ Thanks for another awesome video of everyone's favorite series, have a great weekend :D
  • @d0bbs
A partnership like this goes to show how popular this series has become. Such great work keep it up.
  • @nannynayt4270
This was a super cool Day in the Life! Just to see all these people pursue their passion is very inspirational and heart-warming. Thanks Paolo for allowing us access to see this!
  • @TCReyes
Thank you to the devs for this masterpiece, and congrats on its continued success. Their passion, talent, and hard work paid off.
  • I hope companies know how much fun it is to see more of the behind the scenes of the games and series we love so much! Hopefully more companies see how great it is for Paolo to share this with all of us, it's amazing and one of the best series on Youtube ☺ I know I love it and many many others do too
  • @drakel5943
This guy is about to be an even more sought after employee than he was before. Congrats on the launch and glowing reception!
  • @paoislaw1948
This is astonishing to watch. As someone who loves the Street Fighter franchise and who loves Street Fighter 6 personally, it's a delight to see the team behind the fantastic creation of this game. This game will surely be a candidate for the game of the year. From one Paolo to another, thank you for creating this content. Hope to see more in the future.
