To answer these questions, the team from the fifth estate conducted an exhaustive journalistic investigation over many months as they chased down a multitude of leads, knocked on countless doors and asked many difficult questions of the people who agreed to talk.
In exclusive interviews with those who know him best, host Bob McKeown reveals, in intricate detail, the story of Colonel Russell Williams — career military man, respected community leader, husband and, now, convicted murderer.

What scares me is the number of homes he broke into without being caught.
-
A lot of credit must go to those 2 guys who spotted his SUV....
-
My father worked for Russel in Trenton like a decade ago. He met our family and always Walked me and my brother through the base to meet my dad in his office. I found this out 3 weeks again and it terrifies me to this day.

Excellent lesson on intuition, the way the trucker described getting a shiver of chills seeing the truck located in the field. And a hero for going to the police.
-
It’s crazy how he can break into so many houses and then show up to work the next day like nothing happened.
-
If a movie was to be made, Woody Harelson should be hired.
-
What should really scare you is what happened to his neighbor. Dude was just minding his own business and by proximity to some shady stuff happening he literally almost went to jail for life. I feel really bad for that dude. You can tell he almost got choked up talking about that experience.
-
I feel sorry not only for the victims and their families but that poor old guy that had to endure all of that harassment and being labeled by his community for something he hadn’t done.
-
Let this be a lesson to everyone...never let a suit, a uniform, a medal, titles etc., fool you; evil comes in every possible way that your mind can imagine.
-
The fact that low-life Russell tried to frame his OWN neighbour by dumping poor Jessica’s body at the place Larry told him he hunts at is just stone cold.
-
Wow, that message left on the computer is scary. He was in the house listening.
-
I can’t even break into my own house when I lock myself out without a neighbor or someone seeing me !??
-
we owe a debt of gratitude to Barker for being vilgiant in noticing the SUV by Jessica's home, then able to put 2&2 together and prompty reporting it to the police. Those tire tracks put Willams on police radar, without them another innocent woman might have fell victim to the depravity of Willams

I was a cop for 9 years. I've seen it all. I watched Russell William's interrogation and swear to you that I've never seen a colder, more unfeeling person in my life.

I had someone steal my underwear and "personal items" when I was at work (year 2007) long story short after I moved out of that apartment complex the landlord was on the news for getting caught on camera doing it to several women. He had a key to all of our apartments...I never even thought of him he was such a nice guy! Ugh.
-
I can’t get over that they lived on “Cozy Cove Lane”. This is like a horror movie. 😬
-
a tip to the women who live alone out there. I once heard someone give this advice years ago when I was a kid... If you're a woman and you live alone go to the thrift store and try to find a pair of used work boots and some used baseball hats. hang the hat's up or you would hang your stuff and put the boots where they can be seen from the front door. even if you have a porch you can put a pair of old work boots on the porch. The purpose of this is to give the illusion to anyone who may come to the door or anyone that comes in that a guy is around or at least comes and goes.

When he says in his interrogation "the cat saw me, she followed what the cat was looking at, and she saw me so I jumped out" yeah.....that 100% nightmare material.
-
Hard to believe he slipped into so many houses without getting caught or recorded on cctv.
-
So many more out here that are just like him. One of the most-skillful interrogations I've seen televised.
