  • Instead of a lot of over criticism of the nature of a performance. I'd rather focus on the point of the video. Bobby loved Jerry. Jerry was like a big brother to Bobby. We all miss and love Jerry. Things are different without him, but that is life. Things must change. They don't always have to get worse but we must let them change and see how we can make the best out of what is missing and eventually find out learn how we ought to be, our role, within this change. This is positive and healthy.
  • We miss you so much Jerry. The music never stopped.
  • @kxmotox13
    Just cried like a baby... that was great Bobby, but I miss Jerry so much
  • Bobby Weir had a learning disability, dislexia or something, but always knew he was as smart as anyone else. He worked hard to get to where he could play as he does. He has always had a different outlook on things, and has said it. I have admired him hugely for this for almost 50 years - it has helped me with being different, myself. And of course, nothing can help others deal with you if you're different - ya gotta just WATCH OUT! PS - It helps if you can play the guitar.

    Bobby is a True hero of mine! One of the best story tellers of all time.
  • Standing on the moon I got no cobweb on my shoe Standing on the moon I'm feeling so alone and blue I see the gulf of Mexico As tiny as a tear The coast of California Must be somewhere over here, over here Standing on the moon I see the battle rage below Standing on the moon I see the soldiers come and go There's a metal flag beside me Someone planted long ago Old glory standing stiffly Crimson, white and indigo, indigo I see all of southeast Asia I can see El Salvador I hear the cries of children And the other songs of war It's like a mighty melody That rings down from the sky Standing here upon the moon I watch it all roll by, all roll by Standing on the moon With nothing else to do A lovely view of heaven But I'd rather be with you Standing on the moon I see a shadow on the sun Standing on the moon The stars go fading one by one I hear a cry of victory And another of defeat A scrap of age old lullaby Down some forgotten street Standing on the moon Where talk is cheap and vision true Standing on the moon But I would rather be with you Somewhere in San Francisco On a back porch in July Just looking up to heaven At this crescent in the sky Standing on the moon With nothing left to do A lovely view of heaven But I'd rather be with you, be with you
  • Bob has achieved the goal of many a wise man He cares not for glory or honor recognition and fame He cares only to be To be where he is when he is doing what he is He has achieved satori He lives For himself at that very moment ... and to be hanging on haight playing in the band He always smiles on cloudy days ... he had lived a thousand remarkable lifetimes in his time here and acts as if he has done nothing special I think that my friends we must learn
  • I'm 23...the dead have been my all time favorite band since I was 12 years old. I've gotten the opportunity to see furthur, dead and company, Melvin and the JGB, and several tribute bands. I'm thankful to have seen some of original members. The music and the scene mean the world to me. Sometimes I watch stuff like this and feel sad...sad that I missed the magical years, Jerry, and also sad to know I will most definitely see the day these guys all pass... Thinking about Bobby passing away (or Phil, Mickey, and Billy) feels as sad as a family member passing as these guys got me through all the stages and changes that have taken place in my life. Forever grateful. (~):}

  • This was the first song I heard hours after learning of Jerry's death, I broke me into uncontrollable tears. Till this day, can't make it to the first chorus without shedding a tear. Thx Bobby. RIP Jer
  • Dear Bob, you're right Jerry is still arround you, cause he is a part of your big soul.........
  • R.I.P Jerry, John Perry Barlow, Pigpen, Brent, Keith, Vince, Owsley and Cassidy.
  • I love you Bob. You have alot from all this, but you gave too. From the bottom of my heart, thanks man
  • Hey bob, you guys were legendary, I’m only 30, I listen to you guys. I find it painful to see no one came to fill your shoes. I can’t relate to the new stuff, that magic, the soul, I can’t stop listening to so many roads, I drive a truck in the oilfield and it made me cry. It was like a gift to me.
