Funny thing is, actual Court Jesters were paid pretty well. One Jester was given a whole swath of his king's land for doing a fart joke that the king liked.

The high-pitched, yet joyfully malicious voice really fits the Jester’s chaotic personality.

"Not all thorns come with a rose" The whole song is great, but this line is pure chills.

So I was just looking for covers of this song and then I see this. Being tired, I went "eh why not, let's see if it's any good". I am so glad that my tired brain did because this is quite literally the BEST cover of this song I've ever heard! Very well done, and you've earned a subscription!

I get really attached to the original versions of songs and that makes it hard for me sometimes to fully appreciate remixes or covers. Especially this song, which I adore so much to the point of inspiring me to create a whole character based on it. That context in mind: Your cover does this song great justice and I'm thrilled at how you captured the spirit of the original. Props.

Something I love about this cover is how soft your voice on the opening line sounds before seamlessly solidifying on the next one and onwards… It gives a gentle and yet whimsical quality to the song and it just jives really really well

I think im officially obsessed. When i first heard the origin I loved it and I normally don't like the sound of vocaloids. but it was so catchy and the animatic attached was perfect. So I looked for a human cover and found yours. I think I've listened to this over 30 times now and I found this song yesterday. I have to stop myself from putting it on repeat when in the car so I don't annoy my family. Your voice is so perfect and I've listened to other covers but yours just encapulates the right vibe.

I love how slowly more unhinged you sound as you go

Alright, this is pretty damn good! It’s not perfect but still good! I think the best line from this cover (at least the one I think is most well executed) has got to be “In my time away, you’ve ended up alone!” Like, in the OG song, it was meant to be sadistic mocking, like, this ain’t a fool playing out his part, this is legitimate sadistic mocking. Here, however the line is ramped up to eleven, with it starting kinda “calm,” like most of the song, then when it gets to “you’ve ended up alone,” the jester starts to yell, to shout in maniacal GLEE! To the king! it’s not just sadistic, this is one of the most intelligent people in the kingdom feeling maniacal and sadistic glee over that fact, and it hits hard! So, yeah, hope you enjoyed my mini-essay, and bravo to you, sir/miss!

I just pictured a 2000s cartoon network show about royalty and there being a villain jester character and he gets his own special episodes about the main characters battling him and then his final appearance has him monologuing to the heros then starts singing this as a flashback plays, and then at the end of the song they just kill him with friendship (and flame powers)

I found this cover a few days ago and it inspired me to make one of my favourite writing concepts from the past few years. I've listened to the original a couple times as well, but the fact that your version has much clearer lyrics is really nice and makes me partial to yours. Good song, mate!
