Not me sitting here bawling my eyes out over finding out Kuma passed away. I will miss him so much. He was a handsome boy. I'm happy to know out of all the groomers he could have trusted he chose Vanessa. Time to go watch Kuma videos again

The Kuma videos led us down the road to eventually adopt an Akita of our own ... she is coming up on 7 months old and we love her mischievous sense of joy.

Saber is so sweet. He reminds me of an Akita we had in our family, Panda. She was 100lbs, so kind of big for a female, but she had no idea. She was mellow and quiet like Saber. We used to joke that she was like Eeyore. She was very shy. Panda barked about 6x in her 10 years of life and each time scared herself and had us wondering which neighbor got a new dog 😂 She definitely had the Akita intelligence and stubbornness. If she didn't want to do something, she'd sit and not move (common for Akitas). We used to crack up when she would bring a toy to you b/c she would bring it to your face as if you were supposed to use your mouth too 😅 When annoyed at someone or something, she would gently swat it w/ her huge paw. She was such a great dog. Akitas are fantastic but not for novice owners. I would say they should be the only dog unless they were raised together as puppies and w/ very balanced owner(s).

The more I watch your channel the more I want a dog. Aloha from Maui. I’m working with wildfire survivors here and your channel helps me clear my head. Many many pets were lost and died during the fires. It’s so heartbreaking. Mahalo for your channel. ❤❤

Met an 11-year-old Akita yesterday. Gorgeous, dignified, and quiet. A well-bred, well-trained elder statesman.

My first dog was a parvo survivor, too. His litter of 9 was thrown away in the garbage and the garbage man found them. Sadly my pups brothers and sisters all passed away. Thankfully he survived ($3000 later and several overnights at the vet) and had a long, happy life. Deepest condolences about Kuma.

I love how he moves his head as if to say "Here. No here. More here". Then in one spot "Yes! That's it!"

Ah, an American Akita with the Japanese Akita coloring. If his nose was bright pink and his snout a little longer, he'd look exactly like my Callie! We lost her a year ago this September. She was one of a kind. I whistle-trained her so instead of speaking a command like "sit" or "guard", I'd just whistle a certain way and she knew what she had to do. My family lost their minds when I showed them all the things she could do. Smartest dogs on Earth!

While in the shower getting fluffed up, he looked like a bowl of meringue for a lemon pie! "He's SO FLUFFY!"......great groom too! love the furnado!

He opens fridges because he knows that that's where humans keep the good stuff! 😉 What a sweet, gorgeous gentleman~🥰 Kuma is chasing bunnies (and at his size, probably trucks and moose!) on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, but he's left us a good boi who loves the blow dryer just as much as he did! May Kuman's family find peace💖
