It's incredibly exciting to see someone with such strong ties to Hawaii gain recognition and admiration abroad for his potent performances in the 21st season of one of the most popular shows in television history. Iam Tongi has been selected as one of the Top 10 finalists. A moving, dramatic performance of "Monsters" by James Blunt by Tongi during his audition for the program went viral. While holding back tears and dedicating the song to his recently deceased father, Tongi kept his composure and gave a performance that moved the judges to tears. However, the parallels between Tongi and Israel "Braddah Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole will undoubtedly be noticed by followers of Hawaiian music. They are both substantial men. Let's take a look if Iam Tongi and Israel Kamakawiwoʻole are related?

Iam has already caught the hearts of the people of Hawaii while he was there with American Idol. He also won all those that hear him sing. He is a beautiful soul that warms and melts anyone's heart with his voice.

Ya'll the reason is due to the music itself...Hawaiian music and it's performers have the unique flavor of da islands...Be it Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand, Polynesia...da music blends...From an old Island boy when my people who were born in Wailua, Oahu...When it was a sugar cane town....My uncle used to run the movie theatre there which used to be a quonset structure...Any locals remember this?
