Children would universally claim to the parents (or grandparents or any caregiver) of their fear of “monsters under their bed”. Whether it’s real fear or smart excuse to delay their sleep time. And parents would give the kids comfort by “chasing the monsters away”. The song resonates not only to Iam but to the countless many. Iam unified many by giving us permission to break free from the shell of our grief, to take ownership of healing, to unashamedly share our grief, to embrace role-reversal in life. So yessah, Iam, it’s your and our turn to chase the monsters away!

I am 76 years old and lived through the times of great singers like Israel Kamakavivaole, Kealii Reichel, too many to mention. Thank God that I'm Tongi has come along with his incredibly wonderful and powerful voice.
