Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but I believe the set is also split up into 24 bags so that it can be built each day before Christmas like an advent calendar! I think they may mostly even be in chronological order so you can build along through the events of the film.

The sledge not going through the door actually matches the real geography of the house because there's a cut inbetween Kevin going down the stairs and flying out and if you pay attention you can see that he would just crash into the wall like he does in the Lego set.

As to your final question, yes, I would definitely like to see Lego make some fully-walled houses, that aren't necessarily attached to any IPs, of this type of scale and detail.

I initially thought that I'd pass on this, thinking it would be a set that would be small and light on details - but I am so wrong! This is now a definite buy for me... thanks for the review! This set exceeds my expectations by far!

Wow, that red crystal door handle really made me nostalgically remember the old adventure sets with the mummies and stuff. That was when Lego peaked in my life!

Watching this review I've realized I have been thinking my entire life that Home Alone 3 (the one about the RC car and the microchip) was Home Alone 1. Anyway, good review as always!

5:19 I think the fact that the sleigh is mostly unable to go through the door isn't really a problem because it was the same case in real life when shooting the movie: the staircase wasn't aligned with the door, Kevin could only slide out the door from the staircase with the usage of filming tricks
  • Okay, the sheer amount of details in this set is absolutely impressive. I love how they captured all the memorable moments of the movie into this piece. EDIT: My wife actually bought me the set as a wedding anniversary gift. She is absolutely insane and I love her for that. She really made me happy on that day. ❤

Tiago: "I've been avoiding the elephant in the room" MJ: "and I took that personally"

Very impressed with the set and I love the opening to the interior of the house. I have been complaining (mostly in silence) of these open back built for years.

I'm more interested in the burglars and their van than the house. Who doesn't want a Joe Pesci action figure?

One way to create a Home Alone Trap: Scatter LEGO pieces everywhere

I was waiting for the "Hello!" When Marv sticks his head through the cat door. The tarantula scene, plunks it on Marv's face, that scream he let's out....I die every time

I really love this build - day one purchase for me. As for the possibility of a line of larger, non-licensed house builds, I would be ecstatic if Lego started releasing those. They would make wonderful display pieces!

For cooperative holiday building, it’s actually pretty fun trading off every few steps while watching whatever movie/s the set relates to. My younger brother (17)and I (33) have been doing this for a few years. It works well with the larger sets where there might be redundant builds (1989 Batmobile, the UCS gunship, Mos Eisley Cantina). Usually whoever wasn’t building would help sort and pick out the parts needed for the next step. I imagine building the Titanic with a friend or relative would be great.

Great review. Thanks. And yes, I would certainly love more modular houses.

This Lego set is absolutely amazing. The attention to detail, working mechanisms, and the design itself is very impressive.
