My father is 76 years old. He has NEVER been into the fantasy genre in any sense. Over the last 15 years, I have tried numerous times to get him to watch LOTR with me to no avail. This past Christmas, I was able to FINALLY convince him to sit down and watch at least The Fellowship Of The Rings (extended version) with me. Within a 5 day span, we finished ALL 3 Extended Versions and my 76 years old father was in tears by the end of it and thanked me for sharing them with him. He told me "I haven't enjoyed a journey like that in a long time".

This is the most beautiful comment section I have ever seen. Just thousands of people coming together to enjoy this master piece. It truly brings tears of joy to my eyes. Thank you everyone for gathering here for this amazing moment.

Frodo : “I can't do this, Sam.” Sam : “I know. It's all wrong By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy. How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened. But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something.” Frodo : “What are we holding on to, Sam?” Sam : “That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.”

My daughter chose this music to walk down the aisle with at her wedding earlier this year. We both promised each other we wouldn't cry as we walked together down the aisle to it. That was a very hard promise to keep...but we both just about held it together 🥰

A friend is in terminal care for brain cancer, he will be gone soon. I put my phone on his chest with this beautiful music playing while holding his arm. He could barely speak but noded to the song. I knew he would love that. Music is very powerful. LOTR is so impactful... so much inspiration, emotions and wise lessons. Who knew an assembly of words on paper could spun such magic. We forget this came out of a human being, It really feels like a real world of its own out there somewhere.
  • Oh to be 17 years old again and witnessing Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring on the big screen for the very first time in December 2001. No IPhones, no social media - just a packed auditorium witnessing Tolkien’s legendary tale come to life.

  • When I feel sad, I come here and re-read these comments over and over again without even knowing who they are, so I feel that life has something great in it even if there is no evidence of that. Thank you all and I wish you a life full of happiness.
