People forget that Ariel's voice is one of the most important elements in the movie. So important, it's gets stolen by the villain. The voice.....that's what Disney was going for, and the got it.

This is beyond what I could’ve ever hoped for. Saying Halle exceeded my expectations is an understatement. Her voice is perfect and so beautiful. Hearing this makes me emotional. I can’t wait to see the movie!

Jodi's version will always have a special place in my heart. It's iconic. But HALLE, you have given this beautiful song new life! I love how you honor the original in some areas but still manage to make it your own. I can't imagine ANYBODY else! 💖🧜🏾‍♀️ #May26th

The way people think disney had some insidious agenda casting her. Imagine the casting directors hearing her sing this song? You really think they would pass this up because of her skin tone?? Touch grass people

I actually LOVE halle's version of part of your world because its less of an actual song than the original and more so a raw expression of ariel's emotions, and her desire for a different life than her own. so, its not (even slightly) that she was "off" singing some parts, but that she was drawing emphasis to what she felt really passionate about. everything was entirely deliberate. halle is an incredible singer and im so excited to see her as the little mermaid!

2:23 was PERFECT. Perfect pitch, dead on the note and belted with the cleanest tone! Disney could not have picked a better singer

Halle Bailey's voice is incredibly amazing, mesmerizing and ethereal. No wonder why she got the role of Ariel. She truly deserves it! Remember that Prince Eric fell in love with Ariel's beautiful voice not what she looks like. He doesn't care if she is a mermaid or human.
