I was in Boy Scout but I quit because of poor leadership. We went cold weather camping in march 2023 and it was -15 outside. The sea scout ship and venturing crew who were going with us dropped and my leaders said, “A little cold won’t hurt. If they’re cold we’ll blame the parents for preparing them for it being 10 degrees.” We complained so much our scout master was forced to let us leave because we threatened to sue.

As a current Boy Scout member, it still boggles my mind how we trust kids that can barely do their homework to tie four different knots, light fires, use bows and arrows, cook raw meat for their patrols, and lead other kids. Yep, just a good old fashion recipe for chaos :’)

9:51 Even tho this is like a few months ago, There is this sport called Trapshooting Where it involves you a shotgun, a Bird shooter, And a Few clay birds When you say “Pull” The Target will fling out and You have to fire at the target so i thought this was why u learned shotguns

I can relate to some of these problems because I'm also in boy scouts. I am also having to deal with the son of my scout master. And since nobody really has a handle on him, he thinks he can just do whatever he wants to do because of it. I am a first class scout and I only have a bit left to do before I hit star. I am very happy to see this video because I don't feel as alone now.

Merit Badge Counselor with Boy Scouts of America here! (For those who don't know, I basically grade the Scouts' homework and give them their badges). I'd say this is a good summary of the Scouting experience. It can be rough. But hey, congrats to you for achieving Eagle! And by the power vested in me by the Boy Scouts of America, I shall give your mom the honorary "Awesome Parent" merit badge.
