Five years after YouTube launched Memberships, and after a decade of countless comments from all of you asking how you can support Mashed, we have decided to launch our own YouTube Memberships program called Mashed+.
And we couldn’t be more excited!
A few of you will have some questions about why we’re doing this or how this will affect Mashed going forward. We’re going to try and answer all of your questions here. But, if you have any further queries, just leave a comment and we’ll try to answer you as soon as we can.
So…
WHAT IS MASHED+?
Mashed+ is a YouTube Memberships program that gives Mashed superfans even more great Mashed content. There are three levels at launch and this is what you get at each level:

- - - - Mashed-specific emojis you can use in the comments section
- - - - The Mashed team will see your comments before any others
Mashed+ Butter (£2.99)
- - - - Perks from the previous level
- - - - Early access to new cartoons
- - - - Exclusive desktop & mobile wallpapers of Mashed cartoons and characters
Mashed+ Butter (£6.99)
- - - - Perks from the previous levels
- - - - Sneak peeks at upcoming cartoons
- - - - Exclusive behind-the-scenes & pre-production content: concept art, animatics and scripts
- - - - Polls that will influence our future cartoons

You’ll be able to find an even more thorough breakdown of all these perks in the Mashed+ section of the channel: just click the “Join” button in the top-right, underneath our banner. Alternatively, go to youtube.com/@mashed/join.
Mashed+ will be an evolving thing, so there’s definitely scope for us to add more things in the future – we’re already in the planning stages for what extras we can give you – but this will be the offering at launch.

WHY NOW?
While there’s definitely a minority out there that thinks Mashed is just one person toiling away in their bedroom, we assure you it most certainly is not.
Mashed consists of a core team that works every day to make the cartoons you love, as well as a pool of some of the best freelance artists, animators, voice actors, musicians and writers in the entire world.
And – to put it bluntly – making a living as an online creator in 2023 is tough. So, your subscription to Mashed+ ensures that everyone who works on Mashed gets to continue making the toons you enjoy watching.

WHERE DOES MY MONEY GO?
On top of helping to keep the lights on, as outlined above, your Mashed+ subscription will allow us to do things we aren’t currently able to do.
Just to give you a couple of examples, there are animators and voice actors we’d love to have on the channel. But, more animators and collaborators costs more money. So, your money would go towards us getting even more talented people on the channel.
And with this extra help, it would also mean we could work faster, which could result in you seeing the continuation of that series you love, sooner rather than later.

WHAT IF I JUST WANT TO WATCH YOUR TOONS LIKE NORMAL?
You can!
Of course, we massively appreciate anyone that decides to spend their hard-earned cash on a Mashed+ subscription. But, importantly, we appreciate everyone that likes, comments and watches our content just as much.
So…
If you decide to join Mashed+, thank you. If you decide you’re happy continuing to watch our cartoons as normal, thank you. Either way, we wouldn’t be here without you… so, thank you.

Fun Fact: This is the second time Secret Histories Tails didn’t swear! He didn’t swear in his first appearance, which was the cartoon we all know and love, Secret Histories of Sonic and Tails, and now this! Mashed has blessed us with another wonderful cartoon once again!

This is honestly the best membership campaigns I have ever seen. The fact it is also 'what are friends for' Tails and 'there's something about' Amy makes it even better. They both have the sporadic insanity, drive, genius and charisma to take all of our support and money.
