Heyman could turn AEW around, but first he'd have to defeat final boss Chris Jericho.
  • If AEW's people won't listen to Jim Ross they won't listen to Paul E.

Only a short time ago the Punk/MJF feud was on fire. Wardlow was building. Bryan Danielson was having stellar matches, FTR we're in TV and Malakai Black was fearsome and scary. Goddamn you tiny Con for giving me hope.

At this rate, the catering crew could run the show better than Tony.
  • @SwagAli
Tony will never give up creative control. He literally financed AEW just so he could turn his efed into a real wrestling promotion.
  • The way they all went at JR after he tried to give valuable critism none of these indy trampoline marks or death match marks would listen to paul heyman

I sometimes wonder what would have happened if WCW had hired Paul Heyman instead of Vince Russo. Imagine that version of Heyman who doesn’t have to worry about finances or the threat of every talent he builds into a star walking away from him. This was basically what held ECW back from becoming a true powerhouse.
  • Given how they pushed back on Jim Ross for his criticisms I don't think he would even want to
  • “He’s a few years younger than I am as I like to remind everybody.” Had to make sure he got that in there! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
  • Paul heyman is comfortable where he is, part of the biggest storyline, on tv every week and most importantly doesn’t even have to use his gift of gab. He doesn’t need the stress that comes with all elite.

Imagine Jim and Paul running AEW. God that would be epic. Of course it would NEVER happen because Tony will NEVER give up creative control. But I can dream.
  • @JDotWill
It’d be interesting to see how he’d coexist with the EVPs.

The smackdown 6 is paul heyman's greatest work.
  • Happy Holidays Jim and Brian! Thanks for always keeping me entertained!

"Could Paul Heyman Fix AEW?" No, but Heyman would convince people he could.

Gabe Sapolsky would probably have been a better pick. As with what he did with ROH shows he can keep the indy crowd happy, while his ECW and WWE experience can help with the mainstream fans. Seems they missed their chance as he resigned in September.
  • Sounds great of a what-if for Paul Heyman. But look at the other vets that AEW brought in and they got ignored. Paul would in time get the exact same treatment by the Hardly Boys, with the same bad press written about him by Uncle Dave.
  • I don't know why people backstage fantasy book for AEW. AEW has (or had) Jim Ross, the veteran wrestling minds of Dean Malenko, Jake the Snake, Dustin Rhodes, Big Show, Mark Henry, CM Punk, and William Regal. Not to mention, Jim Cornette literally giving away advice on his podcast for FREE. And Khan STILL books the way he does and allows guys like the Elite and Hangman ignore advice and "wrestle" according to their vision. Nothing will help AEW until Khan humbles himself and listens to common sense.
