Two years ago we made the decision to leave our position as full-time pastors and the toxic church that we were a part of (Plymouth Brethren)-without a plan. Shortly thereafter we went no contact with my parents and some of my other family members due to abusive and toxic behavior.

In this episode, I’m sharing some of the things that have come out of those decisions and how we’re continuing to move forward. It’s my hope that in sharing this part of our story, those who have had to make similar difficult decisions will be encouraged to keep pressing forward because there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

ABOUT US: The adventure doesn’t stop when the kids arrive. If anything, it just gets more interesting! Our family of eight is learning the joy of growing and exploring together. Join us as we learn how to make the most of our moments at home, on the road, and around the world.

Dinkum (pronounced DING-kum) is an Australian adjective that means “genuine” or “real”. Our family is grounded upon three decades of serious life-change. We know what it is to fight through abuse, addiction, and anxiety in order to build a life worth living. It takes grit to live a dinkum life, but we’re finding the journey to be worth every step.
