Understanding Newsom's order to clear homeless encampments

Gov. Newsom ordered state agencies to start removing homeless encampments on state property, this following a Supreme Court ruling allowing cities to enforce bans on sleeping outside in public spaces. But will this really help LA County? FOX 11 spoke to Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock as well as residents who are skeptical of it.

    Homelessness by choice, addiction, or mental issues makes no difference. Getting them off the street and into group living is always better. It's called rehab. Don't let compassion become enabling.

  • I really hate it when someone says people are homeless because they can’t afford to pay rent. They are drug addicts that need help. And they don’t want help. They want entitlements.

    3:24 It is not a losing battle, dude. Get off the streets and find a way, anyway you can or the Government will make you move. You don't own the property you are on.
