love it! You know you're from MN when you decide to take a "rip" around to see the (beautiful) scenery on snowy roads! :)
  • Even in the middle of a snowstorm, you still managed to make progress on the cabin! Well done! That was a nice ride in the snow! It was very peaceful! 🙂

I like the video before even watching cause you know it’s gonna be a banger.
  • You're a lucky person living where you do! Wife and I spent a week in September 2023 in a VRBO cabin east of the Brainerd area. The cabin only had a wood stove in it to heat the place and September had started to turn chilly and damp so a fire was a welcomed addition to the morning and evening hours. The previous renters had left a deep layer of ashes in the stove. We stopped at the first Ace Hardware we came to and picked up a metal bucket and a long-handled ash shovel. We cleaned out the stove and lit a fire that evening that really made the cabin cheery and warm! We dumped the cold ashes in a fire pit down by the lake and Mother Nature provided a few showers to settle the ashes before the wind could spread them around. There's just something to be said when you've got a good fire going, you can turn out the overhead lights and just sit back in the glow of the soft fire light! We were sad when we had to head back to the Goodhue County area at the end of the week. I scooped the stove clean one last time, dumped the ashes and then we headed out. Sure was a great week in Lake Country; wish we had a permanent place up there! Best wishes to you and yours! Stay safe this Summer. Hope you don't have too many "red-flag" days; we can sure use a wet Spring to soak the ground and lessen the fire danger level. Be well!

There’s just something about seeing freshly baked bread that somehow touches your inner soul. Everything from working the dough, the rise, and the baking…

I could swear Cierra said, “I can’t wait for fall.” before spring even got here. LOL. I can use some warmth for a few months. Great vid as usual.
  • My folks would yell out the window to me when doing my chores, " Are ya gaining ?" - meaning progress 😅 You are gaining 👌 walls are getting higher --awesome work 🏆

Looks like the chickens could use some fresh/additional nesting material and pen a good cleaning

Snow always make any cabin look cozy, even cozier inside with woodstove blazing, fresh bread & smell of rabbit stew in the cast iron pot looking out lol, Great set up you have there young feller, i remember back in the mid 70s my dad & myself built a log cabin 8X12 i think, Well just an trappers camp, Here in Newfoundland we call them trappers (Tilts), past couple of months was thinking of building one for my g son maybe 10x16 with A frame roof, i have the lake picked out, great place we go ice fishing, i have hunted there few yrs back for ducks & geese, with dad, a place where nobody goes it"s about hr walk from the highway,, only think i regret is i never done this when i was younger, But i am sure my G son will enjoy it for yrs, seeing he is only 15yrs old, But love the outdoor life
