In a perfect world Denis Villenueve would direct every movie. It’s okay though because we have Blade Runner 2049.

I mean... Just imagine these two guys working together... Rian writing the script and Denis on the director's chair, I'm sure that'd be hands down the best work of art ever composed.

Villeneuve and Johnson have both made satisfying sequels, but it's very easy to tell what separates the men and the boys. Johnson is a great entertainer. Villenueve is an artist.

With the Blade Runner movies is they are never going to tell you what it really means. The first shot with the eye. The statue with one eye. They are not going to tell you what that is. Something about Paradise Lost and 'dream states' sharing dreams? Something about metempsychosis and apotheosis. Occult film making. The only explanation you will get is silence.
