When god doesn't take away your pain | Padre Pio

Dear beloved,

In times of suffering and pain, it can be deeply challenging to understand why God does not immediately remove our hardships. However, it is crucial to remember that even in these moments, God is present, working in ways we may not yet comprehend. When faced with persistent pain, consider these steps to find solace and strength:

First Turn to Prayer and Trust in God’s Plan
Prayer is your lifeline to God, especially in times of distress. Pour out your heart to Him, expressing your fears, frustrations, and hopes. Trust that He hears you and that He has a divine purpose for your struggles. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Second Seek Comfort in Scripture
The Bible is a source of endless comfort and wisdom. Reflect on passages that speak to God’s faithfulness and His promise to be with you in suffering. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Let His word be a balm to your soul.

Third Lean on Your Faith Community
Surround yourself with fellow believers who can offer support, prayers, and encouragement. Share your burdens with trusted friends, pastors, or support groups. As Galatians 6:2 urges, "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."

Four Find Purpose in Your Pain
Often, God uses our pain to refine us, draw us closer to Him, or to prepare us for greater purposes. Reflect on how your suffering might be shaping your character, increasing your empathy, or strengthening your faith. Romans 5:3-4 reminds us, "We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."

Five Embrace God’s Strength and Grace
Remember that you are not meant to endure pain alone. God’s grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Rely on His strength when yours is depleted, and allow His grace to carry you through.

Though God may not take away your pain immediately, trust that He is with you every step of the way, offering comfort, strength, and hope. Your suffering is not in vain; it is part of His greater plan for your life.

With love and prayers,
