Easy steps to make a steak. Let the steak come to room temp (usually 30-45 min). In the meantime, make some compound butter by mixing unsalted butter with some fresh thyme, fresh rosemary, and fresh minced garlic. Season steak with Kosher salt, fresh coarse pepper, and press the seasonings into the steak. Heat cast iron pan to high or get the grill really hot. Add a little bit of oil to pan. Place the steak gently into the pan and don't touch it. After 4 min flip with tongs. Toss some unsalted butter Optional(add thyme, rosemary, garlic) 3-4 min on other side. Tilt pan near you and baste steak with spoon. Use tongs, 30 seconds-1min on side to render the fat. One last baste with spoon. Remove from heat. Place compound butter on top. Let the steak rest for 8-10 min. Cut into center of the steak and smile. Making steak is fun. Nothing like ending a long day/week with a cold drink and a good meal.

Good video. A few additions for anyone trying to do this... 1) Sear the sides. PIck up your steak with tongs and hold the each side of the steak against the bottom of the pan. Or alternatively move the steak to the edge of the pan and spoon butter or oil over it while tilting the pan. 2) That was very rare actually. Have an oven at 450 while doing this. If you find that your steak has developed a nice crust but is still rarer than you want, move it into the oven to finish.

Although the steak looks good on the outside and the video is very professionally done. The steak was bleeding raw. 10 out of 10 for everything else though

Honestly that looks really good... Maybe just a LITTLE rare for my taste but another minute or two total would be absolutely perfect.
