it does not show on my screen the skin I chose. o refollowed my steps and directions. then when I try to click on  my skin on the WinRAR it says their are no files to extract? Whats going on. How do I fix this? also didn't have a bin so i clicked on version and then to textures,and then entity. and i replaced and deleted my old skin. please reply because i have been searching of how to do this

mine dont have that bin folder and that char.png ... what i did was search for steve.png then i deleted it and put what i donwloaded but my character turns into alex then i deleted it doesnt change anything .. HELPPPPPP

What version of minecraft is this? because mine looks different, and when i follow these instructions, and go to .minecraft, there isnt a bin there at all. so what then? i downloaded it from the link given here, and its still the same. Need some help guys pls.

1.go %appdata% 2.go minecraft. folder 3.copy paste any version you like and name it whatever you like then 4.go to the folder you see 2 files json and jar rename those the same name that you renamed the version make sure no different 5.after that right click the jar file click open with 6.if you downloaded winrar click winrar 7.delete meta-inf 8.go download a skin in a skin website than rename it steve.png and alex if your in 1.8 update or 1.4 1.2 name it char.png 9.delete the steve file and put your skin on and done 10.open minecraft then yeah open a world then theres your skin

I need help. I downloaded bin, but when I open it I can't open the minecraft folder, as it opens the minecraft game instead, so I did left click and ''View File''. After that I went to mobs and changed my character, I added a different skin and removed the default skin. After that, I opened my skin just to make sure that it's the skin I want, But, When I play minecraft it just gives me the regular, default (Steve) skin. Please help, I also wanted to know, does this method only work on your free minecraft version?
