In this video we show step by step how to install a new construction window. This particular opening is built out to match the original siding. Apologies for the audio, our mic got damaged during the process.
1. Start by unwrapping the window and inspecting for damage.
2. Dry install the window to check for proper fit.
3. Remove the window and apply flashing to protect the framing from water damage.
4. Install the window, check level, center in the opening, and secure the flange using roofing or siding nails.
5. Install flashing to cover the nails, start at bottom flange and work your way up the sides and finally the top, making sure to overlap top over bottom.
6. Install low expansion foam on the inside gap between the window and the framing.
