I was already impressed with the big NES controller. Then you showed me the big Wii remote

I love that the tone of this presentation is in-keeping with a museum rather than an arcade or theme park. Giving video game history the proper reverance it deserves

I visited Japan in 2014 and visited Nintendo headquarters. I knew there was nothing to do there, but wanted to visit the building as I've been a lifelong fan. Security guards immediately rushed out to chase me away but my friend who spoke Japanese told the guards I just wanted to visit and take a photo with the sign - which I did and treasure to this day. I wish this museum was open back then, finally a spot in Kyoto for fans to congregate 😊

the fact it's in a historical location for the company, is pretty well thought out and respectful of their predecessors.
  • I love how the man who should be the main attraction of the museum is giving us a tour of the museum.

My Grandma bought me the NES in 1988 for Christmas. It was a very special moment in my life. I loved my Grandma very much. She passed away this year. I have my NES on display with a picture of her and I hanging out. I miss her. I plan to power on the NES every year and to play a little Mario on the old hardware, which still runs.

I’m 41 now and have lived in Switzerland, Pakistan, and the US. Nintendo has been a part of my life at every stage, bringing me, my friends, and my family countless hours of joy and happiness. I can’t think of Nintendo as anything other than family. Thank you, Miyamoto-san, Iwata-san, Yokoi-san, Uemura-san, Aonuma-san, Mr. Fils-Aimé, and everyone else who has made billions of children smile. I hope this joy can be extended to underprivileged children in various parts of the world.

What I love is that Miyamoto-San was there since the beginning, and he says all the time “I remember this building before the museum…. I played this system on release…. I was part of the design of this….” The man is a living legend

Miyamoto never lost his inner child. He's the perfect ambassador for a company like Nintendo.

Out of the respect for Nintendo's golden history and personal nostalgia, this is one reason that makes me wish I've lived in Japan. It just resonates so many happy memories I've had with family and friends.

Wow, this is one swell museum. If it wasn't on the other side of the world, I would visit it every single day. It's just wonderful.

I really want to visit Japan now. This looks so cool, especially the giant controllers you can use to play games like Super Mario Bros. and Wii Sports Resort.
