The fact this show is based on "I have no mouth and I must scream" already tells this isn't going to end well for anybody.

Thank goodness you're here. Pomni desperately needs therapy! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ญโค๐Ÿ’™

Regarding Jax's outwardly abrasive and aloof personality, I feel like his mischievous, pranksterish streak is a coping strategy: since he's trapped in the Digital Circus with everyone else and doesn't have any control over his world, he uses those random pranks and snide comments as a way to reclaim some degree of autonomy -- provoking emotional reactions from his fellow prisoners in a sort of 'I prank, therefore I am' affirmation that he's still himself. But it's a facade, and we see the mask slip off very briefly at the end of the second episode: when Ragatha and Kinger bring up Kaufmo's funeral, for a brief moment, a saddened expression crosses Jax's face, right before he shakes it off and walks away. He knows his coping strategy has limits, and seeing Kaufmo lose his mind was an irrefutable reminder of how little control he actually has -- so he threw himself into the next adventure as a distraction, using Denial, Anger and Bargaining to avoid having to confront Sorrow. (I'm sure he's watched enough people Abstract to know that the fourth step of Kรผbler-Ross is what breaks people, and he'd rather run from his feelings than follow that same path.)

At the end when Pomni's nightmare from the beginning replays, everyone in the group is seen grabbing her hand to save her except Jax's. So Pomni definitely doesn't consider Jax a friend due to his worst behavior and wouldn't expect him to have her back like the others. This is even more notable because Pomni still imagines Gangle's hand (or ribbon). Keep in mind, Pomni literally hasn't shared a single conversation with Gangle yet, but she'd rather entrust her life to somebody who is effectively a total stranger than someone like Jax. Granted, Gangle is nothing like Jax and doesn't have a mean bone in her body, but again, she and Pomni have yet to properly communicate, so the point still stands.

That button earring on the right ear is a really nice touch to that Ragatha outfit!

to me, Kinger seems like he's dealing with the trauma of his predicament by being constantly disassociated. i don't get the vibe that he's fearful, just that he's a bit checked-out and that makes him easily distracted.
  • @TheCatsLibrary_1
Zooble and Jax sort of have different life philosophies where Zooble is an introvert who prioritizes real things and Jax is an extrovert who is completely immerged in the gameplay.

I feel conflicted. On the one hand, I don't like the quizzes, but I like that it's by a therapist

I'm do glad you did Digital Circus. Out of all the characters, I definitely see myself in Pomni the most. We act just alike. I struggle a lot with being social and I'm shy, but I will comfort people if needed. Whether it's face to face or over text. Even if I'm struggling myself, I can open up to people that I also let open up to me so I can relate to them. This is why I find a lot comfort in Pomni's character. My second favorite and the one I see myself in is Gangle. We're very sensitive and we have depression. But we have a happy mask. And the third is a bit of Ragatha. Because we are people pleasers. I see flaws I know I have in her. And sometimes we'll lie to make people feel better, while trying so hard not to hold a grudge and be understanding.

  • @rocamboleq
first OT and Sam Collins collab, now THIS?!?!? im winning today

It's amazing how much depth we can gleam from the main cast in only the first two episodes. I, for one, look forward to Gangle, Kinger, and Zooble-centered episodes, since while I feel like I have a good understanding of the kind of personalities for Pomni, Ragatha, and Jax and how they cope with being in the Digital Circus, I feel like we could use a bit more insight about the others, like is Gangle's mood-swinging actually tied to her masks, or just how aware is Kinger when it comes to any given situation. I'm especially intrigued by how the series will handle Zooble, since they aren't interested in Caine's wacky adventures and, unless forced to otherwise, won't bother participating in any of them, which initially had me somewhat concerned that they won't get enough screentime for use to get to know them, but Gooseworx did eventually confirm that every episode will have a focus on at least one of the main characters (I believe she said the "Jax episode" won't come until at least after episode 4).
  • @Just_A_lil_Gizmo
Do you think that they could represent the 5 stages of grief. Denial - Pomni Anger - Jax Bargaining - Ragatha Depression - Gangle Acceptance - Kinger
  • @anamariazamora204
Please do Jax!!! Theres going to be an episode just about him and why hes like that.
  • @lonelysoul7661
Yes! More of digital Circus!! And a deep dive of the characters!
  • @3hpleft
This ironically makes me feel less stupid for feeling bad or mean during a video game. I can be morally questionable, like stealing but never can do an evil playthrough.
  • @Iamdja9
If I was trapped in a Digital Circus, Iโ€™d either be more like Jax or Kinger.
  • @tic857
I'm definitely a super feeler like Pomni, with uncertainty, and because of it I get exhausted, and can either start or end an interaction like Zooble. Been told on multiple occasions that I am too "cold" and "Frigid" or "rude" , and I am always confused because I always feel like I was doing what I was doing or saying needed to be said in the most simple way. But I've noticed that its just me spreading myself in a way that I think is manageable for myself, I can't put all my energy into one thing otherwise i burn out. Alot of people don't like my baseline, lots of people think I'm a very rude person, but the people who have stuck around always tell me, "No you're not rude you're straightforward, blunt, you're always thinking about other people that you often forget about yourself.

I honestly didn't expect this analysis, but I'm excited!
