No one growing up in the 1960s ever forgot these groups or hits whether we hear them today or not. I had many on 45s

Iโ€™m a product of the 60s-70s and like my dad said, life was better in his generation. Well, now Iโ€™m the old man and Iโ€™m here to tell you that my dad was absolutely right! With each passing generation, we lose a little bit more of our humanity and sensitivities. โ˜ฎ๏ธ

NONE of these songs have "vanished." They all still get good airplay worldwide.
  • @AntonXul
The Left Banke made so many good songs that I discovered a couple of years just before the pandemic. My daughter when she was 4 actually became a fan of โ€œPretty Ballerinaโ€. When I played it, she used to pirouette to the song and when it finished, sheโ€™d ask me to play it again. They were a solid band. Too bad they didnโ€™t last. They had beautiful songs.

The Four Tops was one of the most successful Motown groups. What the heck are you talking about?
  • @paulmartin7332
I think The Four Tops' legacy is quite alive and well. When did they ever sink into oblivion?
  • @carch7243
The songs have not vanished from my home, I have a meticulously cared for vinyl collection.

The Seekers are Legends in Australia and England . Sold over 50 million Albums .Carnival is Over is still the 36th Best-selling Single in British Music History .The Seekers Concert in Melbourne Australia in 1967 had an Audience of 200,000 People , 10% of Melbourne 's entire population in 1967 . Their Song , I am Australian is being seriously considered to replace Australia 's National Anthem . It gets my Vote . Judith Durham sadly passed away in 2022 and was given a State Funeral by the Victoria Australia Government .Buried in Melbourne where she was Born . Voice of an Angel . Seekers will never be forgotten .

They haven't been forgotten because we that live thru them still remember. What made them so good was the fact that there wasn't one type of sound. The types of music was as different as the next hit was to the last hit. You never knew what to expect, it was exciting. From the Who to the Beach Boys to Ledzepplin to the Beatles to Motown. All of it was different. We didn't realize how special of an era we lived in. We just assumed it would go on forever. It didn't, beginning in the 90s. And all of it was original, really good music. Now it all sounds the same, both so-called rock & country. What's amazing to me is a lot of today's newer music is trying to sound like the 60s-80s but is still trying to sound like today's top 40. It doesn't work. It's ripping off the oldies and butchering the music. The rest is the same old same old. What a great time it was to live in. There will never be a period like those 30 years ever again. No matter what you think of us old goats, we had the best music ever.

The Seekers were a very popular band in the UK and had some big hits, the biggest probably being The Carnival is Over which was an adaptation of an old Russian drinking song. They are certainly not forgotten in the UK on the radio stations that play sixtees music. Back then I was more of a Hollies, Kinks, Small Faces and Who Fan until the arrival of psychedelic music when I started listing to Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Pink Floyd, Traffic and the Doors. The Sixties really was an incredible decade for musical change and innovation
  • @jacklow9611
My three favorite songs by the Seekers are "Georgy Girl", "I'll Never Find Another You" and "World of Our Own".
  • @GordonFalt
Dude could have played a little bit more of each song
