    This video was so fire.....

I hate that speedkicks explanation on spacing and movement within that space is exactly what I needed to hear but I would have NEVER found this gem of information if I wasn't subscribed to Diaphone and if I didn't decide to watch this video specifically. This is what I mean by fighting game knowledge is hard to find. It's difficult to find what you need simply because you don't know what you don't know and can't figure out how to search for something like that.
  • The part is about tekken being a "fast game" despite it being "slow" in a literal sense is SO true, and its true of most 3D games, because the amount of decisions you are constantly making is so high. This is partly because less stuff leads to full combos than most 2D fighters. I'm a huge fan of the soulcalibur series, and that game FEELS really fast despite it technically being even "slower" than tekken if you look at frame data, for two main reasons. #1: the movement is cracked, side stepping is even stronger in SC than it is in the past few iterations of tekken. #2, so little of your hits will convert in to combos, so you are constantly thinking like "okay im plus 6 at this distance with this specific hit, what can i do with that?" And on top of that the game has very string defense options so the rps is quite deep. So you are constantly making decisions instead of just auto piloting into combos/oki all of the time. Its not uncommon for multiple rounds in a row to be won without a single launch, death by 1000 cuts type of deal. Its certainly not for everybody but man i wish calibur got the love (and the netcode) it deserves😢

I like that you included some ranked at the end to try and implement, ty. A lot of times these sorts of vids end with the knowledge, which is still very useful, but seeing you learn and apply helps a lot as a viewer.

This helped me more than I thought. I was also stuck in Mighty Ruler. After this vid, I went on a win streak and just hit Flame Ruler
  • As someone playing Tekken 8 seriously, really trying to learn the game, this video was so dope. It helped me see the game a bit differently and realized now some of the things I can work on. W vid.

Great info, I'm stuck in purple as well so this is gold!
  • @squwiidp7244
the way you show examples in your videos when you guys are talking about specific moves is genius. and very immersive, amazing cuts and edits
  • @pampamtamtam4001
Loved the video and awesome advice from speedkicks! I'm at Garyu with Asuka right now, and now I need to get to some grinding.
  • @dracomundo1498
Thank you very much for making this kind of video, it's something I don't see a lot of people talk about and something I personally just beat
  • @frankdeanda5250
congrats on blue ranks, actually being good at tekken feels so nice since there are so many different options in this game and makes your gameplay feel really individual grinding up purple ranks as well currently and hope to play you in blue ranks soon
  • @rizqiefajar
That was a great session. Sometimes I would forget something as basic as a jab check too, but it's so important. At least until my opponent keeps doing high crush moves haha. Then it's important to mix it up with a mid check
  • @dikkebal
i learned alot from this video. thnx alot for sharing this with us. shout out to speedkicks for the help
  • @ko-yoshi
God dang I think this finally got the one jab concept clicking for me. After hearing the how and why in various vids over the last two months, and losing to it, I think I finally get it lol. 🙏 THX!
  • @DelaDaGawd
Just the video I needed. Also weird me and you main the same characters in every game. It’s pretty crazy.
  • @OrderedAffairs
It's interesting because a lot of these Tekken fundamentals I just kind of ran into and it instinctively got baked into me after thousands of matches so it's kind of interesting to just hear it being conveyed in words
  • @aaronravelo9933
Good info as a Victor main, I'm at flame ruler, but suffer from almost the same problems. You've got a sub from me!
  • @Dyleniz
Ok this session also opened my eyes I keep getting lost in the midrange game
  • @Nikyokusei
id really appreciate if you could do a video on the fundamentals of fighting games, as new player and someone who really wants to get in the fgc i always hear people talking about getting good at fundamentals but not everyone talk about what they are, i know im probably asking for something stupid or to simple that it shouldn't even be a question but i would really appreciate a talk about this topic, anyways thanks for everyone on fgc for being so welcoming
