After living in Pinewood Springs and also Sugarloaf as growing up we were told to evacuate more than once and it was pretty terrifying to look up the mountain and see the flames. This happens here when it gets dry. It's a fact of life and you live on edge every single year holding your breath that you don't see smoke anywhere and always having a plan and a go bag in your car at the beginning of the season. Nothing to do with climate change. This IS the climate! We have a great community of firefighters and neighbors and they turn into a well-oiled machine, all coming to do whatever is needed for the families and their animals. Colorado is amazing in that way. Prayers for everyone to be safe.
