Tensegrity, tensional integrity or floating compression is a structural principle based on a system of isolated components under compression inside a network of continuous tension, and arranged in such a way that the compressed members (usually bars or struts) do not touch each other while the prestressed tensioned members (usually cables or tendons) delineate the system spatially.

Thank you. Your visual with the strings was very helpful. After many frustrating tries I have a popsicle tensegrity too.
  • @sirweebs2914
So you could actually do that with any kind of rope or string? How about a translucent fishingpole string? It should hold quite a bit of weight and I wouldnt mind a "floating" TV table or if that's too heavy a small table for a lamp for example. But for now the small version is just as cool I will try to build it.

I'm glad that youtube recomend me your channel and thank you for the tutorial!!
  • @johnmitchelljr
Trying to finish mine, will try your method for tensioning. Thank you.

    What's this wizardry dude 😮
  • @evelynu3550
I mean, I understand the physics behind this, but it still makes me irrationally angry.
  • @jandames6219
very helpful to keep check on all strings, thanks
  • @FabriKzeiraDIY
very very cool I appreciate it. this give me some ideas to do my cockpit simulator. thanks

Acabo de llegar directo desde Tiktok... La vrd estoy sorprendido
  • @NatePerdomo
very cool. very trendy. love it. btw I'm making you a song tomorrow for your next vid.
  • Thank you, i want try to make it. But, how can i make the hole in popsicles if i don't have a drill?
  • @LeftoverAtoms
Its incredible what is possible. I’m assuming the middle applies an upward force but the side strings hold it in place?
  • @Cyphule
So this was the blueprint for the full size version I guess
  • Hola...Te saludo desde Costa Rica Volcan Arenal... Me encantan estas cosas.👍
  • @shushi7167
you need to make that moving wind mill monster in real size next
  • @Nik-ns1ho
How did you make that fan , explain that too.
  • @pparesh1967
An object hovering in mid-air without any external support is called a gravity defying object. Could you post a video explaining that. If the table is supported with rope, howcome does it defy gravity.
