Making an Infinite LEGO Domino Ring

The ring contains 64 dominos. A ramp runs along the inside of the ring, opposite the falling dominos, to lift them back up. A Mindstorms EV3 is used to monitor and control the speed of the ramp so that it matches the falling dominos.

Gotta love the engineering behind using the sensor to speed up or slow down when necessary, essentially eliminating randomness. And the smart move to close it by going really fast, so the dominos end up upward.

Everyone be talking about engineering and how cool this is (which I absolutely agree with) while I’m just here in my early morning state and enjoying how relaxing this is. No annoying clickbait, no screaming/hyping up the viewer, just a guy building something cool with legos. This is what YouTube should be.

The struggle towards getting up after being knocked down again and again is enough to fill a machine’s heart. One must imagine the legos happy.

This is impressive. Your speed control allows this contraption to work on different planets with different gravity values. You know, in case you get stuck on the moon with a bunch of Legos and nothing else to do.
