Justice Sonia Sotomayor issued a scathing dissent in the 6-3 Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity. The Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump may claim immunity from criminal prosecution for some of the actions he took in the waning days of his presidency in a decision that will likely further delay a trial on federal election subversion charges pending against him. #CNN #News

So, a President can then Jail a Supreme Court Justice, within the scope of "official" duties. This violates the separation of powers which provides a paradigm, but also leads to having a King and not a President. Is this court even educated enough to understand what they are doing. They should have ruled and said "No a President does not have immunity and is subject to prosecution" Period.

Letting the person who is in charge of the strongest, most powerful military in the world operate with impunity is the most egregious thing Ive ever heard.

The speed with which America is committing suicide is rather striking.
  • Constitution of the United States, art. I, § 9, cl. 8): “[N]o Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.” SCOTUS just made the President imune from prosecution from official acts of this nature. In other words, the majority of the SCOTUS just ruled AGAINST the Constitution of the United States. Every single one of them should be impeached for their partisan and corrupt act.

Dana and Jake didn't help save us from this situation by allowing Trump to lie like a dog without fact checking.
  • Right now, I have no confidence in our justice system. There is no law in this nation. It is a sham.

I hope the GOP is ready for a democratic president to make use of this immunity too.
  • Every time the Supreme Court opens their figurative mouth, they set us back 50 years 😡😡

Imagine Fox being the only media under Trump like in Russia. It's absolutely crazy !

My airfare to Switzerland has now become a one-way ticket.
  • Shorter version: The Court has saved Trump, kneecapped Smith, and set up the conditions for an elective monarchy.
  • The Supreme Court has just raised the flag at half mast and upside down.
  • From Australia. The majority of the Supreme Court have paved the way for a rogue in the office of president to behave as a monarch, not a constitutional monarch but rather an absolute monarch. A rogue president who, as head of government and state, could if so inclined, follow their most egregious impulses without constraint or consequences. With this decision the Supreme Court has brought into grave peril the great experiment in democracy, the republic of the United States of America. The judgement of history upon this court majority will be harsh and deserved. Now, more than ever, it rests upon the shoulders of every decent American to peacefully shoulder responsibility for the defence of their great nation and the democratic ideals it aspires to achieve. A November vote is not about politics, it's about the survival of democracy in The United States of America. This Aussie is with all decent Americans. 💙💙💙💙💙💙
