Anybody else fell asleep watching something random and woke up to whatever this is? Happens to me all the time
  • @TwoPappaThree
Anyone else only watch these to fall asleep to? Then occasionally hear something interesting and are like “oh damn”

My grandfather said sheep dressed as wolves are just sheep…..

Excellent documentary!!! Well done and informative. thanks for no over editing/cuts and no blaring background music.
  • This is edited well. A very muted style, soft background music sparsely throughout. It reflects the seriousness of the topic. It’s informative and thorough while maintaining respect to the victims
  • One ironic fact is Heydrich first asked Roehm for a job. Roehm said no and referred him to Himmler. Otherwise might have gone differently.

I think it would be an insult to fall asleep during this! It's much too interesting!

The black uniforms and skull and crossbones derive from a much more honorable group who would have shunned Hitler’s SS. That group was known as the “Black Brunswickers”, and were lead by the Duke of Brunswick until his much mourned death at Waterloo.

i watch documentaries almost exclusively. many of those are historical. i find your presentations to be some of the best overall. keep up the great work!

At the 1:07:00 The talk about the resources that went into running a death camp. And this is one of the only times you ever hear about that. Guards. Workers. Train drivers. Clerks.

The most horrifying SS fact is that the capacity to murder and commit genocide was not a function of diminished intellect. Many leaders of the SS and its Einsatzgruppen held PHDs, were college professors, lawyers, MDs or even Protestant ministers. It is the soul not the mind.

Hitler was sentenced on April 1st, and released just before Christmas - 8+ month, Heinrich Müller was Chief of the Gestapo, the second most powerful man in Germany, after Hitler, was Herman Göring, The Battle of Stalingrad was over on Feb. 2nd, 1943. Kaltenbrunner plus nine others were hanged..

You guys continue to do exceptional research and it shows when you put these videos together. Well done yet again! I hope to see more Rome/Greek topics explored, as well as the prohibition era!

Just came here to tell y'all that I first read the title/thumbnail as "Schutzwaffel" and I cannot unsee it.

Absolutely love the old documentary style like my favorite battlefield series by Tim Piggot Smith from the 90s of all the whole WW2 piece by piece like yours here without hundreds of historians talking at once like they do nowadays in every documentary when they can just do it this way again with a great narrator and amazing videos and pictures from that period of time that show the real evidence of everything that happened in those legendary times That formed the present we live in now and owe are very existence to because it could have gone a very different way with a very different outcome and different world we live in today like some of my family that was there and fought in said time and time again there was a time when that possibility of that different world was a scary reality and how close it was from changing forever in catastrophic ways never thought possible
