I just upgraded recently too. I bought a Festool Rotex 125, similar to the Bosch you reviewed but matches my other Festool stuff. These type of sanders are amazing. Lots of material removal, quickly. A couple words of caution. 1- Because they remove a lot of material fast they tend to generate more surface heat than regular sanders. This causes 2 problems, it will soften and heavily mar epoxy so you will have to chase after it to get it looking nice, and if you apply a lot of pressure on it the sandpaper warms up and can damage/melt/destroy the sander side hook and loop fasteners (the sander pad). Second word of caution - Always use a dust collector with it, always. Not only for the obvious reason of, you know, keeping dust down but the bigger reason it that it will help you keep the sandpaper/velcro cooler and it will last a lot longer.

Surely you have a shop vac? Cobble together some smaller hose to attach to the sander and then to the hose on the vac. Get one of the switches that you plug the sander and vac into and then the sander turns on the vac and lets it run for ten seconds after the sander stops. Makes a huge difference. Sandpaper will last longer, your lungs will be cleaner and your shop will too. The switch/control box was less than $50 and I think it came from Rockler. (Then I bought the big brand $600 shop vac with the feature built in. I must be an idiot.)

Glad to see a video on the new sander dude. I'm stoked you finally went for it. Most people say the statement "I can do the same with my 50 dollar sander and if it brakes I can buy 4 more and still be under what you paid" just doesn't hold weight. Anyone that says things like that haven't used a higher end sander. Too bad you didn't film your face when you first used it. Haha

You mentioned how this sander is a great addition to speed up your business. That's cool and all but how about you invest in yourself and your health and drop the $50 to get a shop vac so you don't get fine epoxy particles in your lungs and then bloodstream

I just bought same sender , have a question. When I press a little bit harder on turbo mode the sender shifts automatically to low speed, and basically does not sand the way it should. Do you have a same problem with it?

Hi. Iam not sure if you have a video on rubio monocoat, but i have managed to buy some in england. Can i still polish my resin with 3m products and use the monocoat after this, or is there no need?. Thank you. Your videos and advise really help👍👍

Can I take a wooden circle slab and put it in a silicone mold just like you used in a previous video and pour epoxy around it and make it the 9x13 pan size? As long as I get all loose bark and such off of course lol

Odd question, but how easily can you handle a sander like this with one hand? My tiny ROS died and I want to upgrade and I think you just sold me on this one. Great review!

Thanks for the review, even though i'm 2 years late lol. I picked one of these up for $188 Brand New, which is much less than the other good sanders cost. I just don't have $500-$700 to spend on a Mirka, 3M or Festool sander, but this sander seems to be able to hold it's own against those more expensive brands/models.

get i get your opinion on this vs the mirka sander? have you ever used the mirka and can you talk more about that? i hear great things about both...except for the price of the mirka

Yeah Nathan I had mine about a year, wait until you gotta get a new pad cuz it won't hold sandpaper. 🤣 None of the dust collection holes align. So dust extraction is NOTHING LIKE IT WAS. It used to have good suction not now. I've contacted the MFG but NOTHING

I have a similar sander but I really have a difficult time with the sandpaper heating up, melting on to the sandpaper, causing the pigtails. It's incredibly frustrating. Even the Mirka Abranet sandpaper clogs up. Would you say do lighter passes? What about spraying the sandpaper with compressed air? I'm really amazed at how your sandpaper did not clog up... what is this sorcery?
