Raeleen is on a crochet mission, Ariel read some books she didn't quite love, and we both have (ironically) a book haul, hehe.

Petition to please call the fake cat books catfishes! Also, Ariel I’d recommend you read A Moveable Feast by Hemingway — he gives a fascinating glimpse into Gertrude Stein’s personality…

OMG - The Canadian "not polite enough" guilt is rampant in Ariel's story! 😁 So sweet! ❤

The way i shrieked at hearing my name at the end comment! More irish translations : my name is pronounced like: Ash-Ling Oh-Lock-Lin. (Aisling OLoughlin) but the 8145 is just for whimsy's sake 😊

So happy to be one of the first certified readers, thank you so much! 🥰

I’m currently reading (& loving!) and the Kamogawa Food Detectives and can attest to the fact that there is, indeed, a cat featured in the book, not just on the cover!

Raes spirit guides were working overtime with those passport photos tho… 🤣💜✨
  • That alphabetical book seems like it could be a cool source of inspiration to spark ideas for art making of journaling prompts... Can't imagine it would make for a particularly enjoyable read, though!

Tbh I was so scared of your peachy hair and now I am totally convinced :D It looks so good! Also, I finally finished my biggest mashed potato book today! I had read half way through it TWO years ago and have had it on my night stand every day since (I even moved inbetween😅, placing it back on there):0 I am so glad I've finished it now, since I enjoyed it so much.

Ariel, I warned you about Gertrude Stein, did I not?🤣
  • i love love love that you chat about your lives as well as books, very fun and entertaining, but also extremely funny that this time on my lunch break i had to cut you off right when you said "should we talk about books" 😅😅

As far as influencing/ bookish scrolling, I’d much rather find myself in the book community than pretty much any other category I could spend money on. I have mostly read poetry and am wanting to venture out and into some fiction, with plot and dialogue. Recommendations coming from well read folks on the internet, seeing from their thoughts and perspective, helps me out a lot personally, as I’m still learning what I would reach for or like in a reading experience. Happy tp be here. Thanks for sharing. ✨

Alphabetical Diaries was originally released as a series of newsletters for the New York Times! That sort of format made sense to me, so I was shocked to hear she was developing the project into a full-length book afterwards. I wonder how the two compare!

I def recommend the podcast just king things, they made me interested in some of the king books i never thought i would ever read and enjoy! Some of the best critique of his work out there.
  • The Twisted Ones lives rent free in my brain. It was a wild ride. I can't wait to hear Raeleens thoughts on it!
  • Hair tip - if your dye is too bright mix in some hair conditioner into the dye then you’ll get a more pastel colour straight away without having to wash it. When I had purple hair I kept pre-mixed dye & conditioner in the shower and just put it on every other time I washed my hair.

Books unbound in the morning on the way to work is an excellent way to kick off my birthday! Riddles of the Sphinx sounds amazing, I’ve gotta grab that one!

funny story. i started Project Hail Mary a while ago and dropped it coz i didn't like the main character's "written voice". then last week saw a few people in this community say they loved it and that they really liked the audiobook - so i picked it up again WITH THE AUDIOBOOK (thanks audible free trial :elbowcough:) aaaand read it in 2 days! IT'S SO LOVELY and possibly one of the best audiobooks i've listened to in a while. the narration is fantastic plus other tidbits in the production that just worked great! so thanks Books Unbound people 🥳 sidenote - "This makes sand" WHAT THE HELL GERTRUDE. it's like the The Orange poem expect it doesn't warm your heart D:
