Your video brought back memories of when I was in-country in Vietnam in 1970-72 (I was in the US Navy; my job while assigned to this unit was to teach the Vietnam naval families how to raise chickens and hogs). We would give each unit a starter group of 500 baby checks and enough feed to get them to frying size. After that they would buy the baby chicks and feed from us. They would raise them in a coop which was built up off the ground (we would supply the material to build the coop. If they had enough land and wanted to build a building that would hold a larger amount of chickens then we would help them build it. There four units that four units that build coops that would hold 500 chickens each and built one unit that would hold up to 5000. The hog project was another story of its own. We got the baby chicks and baby pigs from the Philippines, and the US Air force flew then to DaNang where I worked, also to other place where other people of my unit worked. I enjoyed my one year and four months that I was assigned to this project. (I was raised on a farm in Tennessee before I joined the military. Thanks for bringing back the memories and I enjoyed the video. (Mississippi Gulf Coast, USA).
  • It would have been better to have put the food and water before putting the chicks in place.
