there's a trend on tiktok where people are picking other creators videos and saying "this got millions of likes and mine doesn't. follow me to see the real talent" and in this video im going to explain how it can be a problem to say that.

Saying "I deserve this and this person doesn't deserve this" is just wasting time. Time you can be using by drawing. Also, as someone who does something like dance (its not traditional dance) it is fricking hard. I do get it tho. I think we've all been there, but I think we need to focus on ourselves.

Great video!! I have so many feelings about this stuff too

There’s no point in putting someone else down to build yourself up. Ever. I think, this stems from not so much jealousy but just people being frustrated that one person could earn so much money and get so many views with videos less than a minute long whilst they see all their hours of work unrecognized and earning very little if at all. Clearly Charli is an insanely talented dancer and if she was on a dancing show she’d be earning big time too.

And I doubt people would criticize that as they can see the whole picture versus a few short clips. At a distance, it just seems that a quick dance gets thousands of dollars, the difference is it’s also about the person. People get interested and invested in the lives of that person and for whatever reason they blew up. Does it make sense? Not really...but..The entertainment industry man lol it pays big time

But someone’s success does not take away from someone else’s, and if that person didn’t exist they still wouldn’t be affected or any better off with views. That energy is best spent on their own success instead of focusing on someone else’s. But I do understand the frustration, just not the constant passive aggressiveness.

Nobody needs to be a millionaire especially as a teenager, it’s kind of immoral, but bringing them down won’t get you further either.

Thing is, it’s also not that creators fault as they didn’t expect it to turn into what it has, they simply blew up, earned an extortionate amount of money and...what? Are they supposed to just say no thank you I don’t want the money or recognition pass? Lol I get why people would be frustrated, especially when some people grind for hours and don’t get anywhere for it when a 5 minute video gets uploaded and has millions of views. Unfortunately that’s just the way of the world. I’ve always said it’s not exactly fair that famous actors and footballers earn more than first responders and doctors, but at the end of the day, the entertainment industry has always earned big and I don’t blame these girls one bit for the money they get. Do I think it’s kinda immoral when there’s people out there with no jobs, losing their homes and working 60 hours a week? Absolutely. But their earnings and fame don’t take away someone else’s either, but again, I understand that frustration. There’s just no need to spread that negativity online because there’s already enough of it.

These famous tik tokers aren’t exactly just going to say “no I don’t want it because other people are earning less than me”. I’d just like to think they use their platform for good and donate when they can!

if people dont like what she does, they can do what I do, block her or press not interested :/ they don't need to send hate and stuff

Honestly, you really can’t say that people aren’t putting effort into what they are doing. A lot of times, when things seem effortless, they’ve probably built up over years to get there. Also, the TikTok algorithm is pretty random. No matter how good you do something, it really comes down to how TikTok decides to handle that specific video. Be nice to each other luvs 💞✨

Yeah I've never got this "trend", to me it seems selfish

Im not on tiktok...So that aside. You are such a lovely lass Rae. I'm so glad young people have someone like you too look up to. Beautiful inside and out. I always look forward to your videos x

I used to be that type of person in high school. “I deserve it and they don’t.” This was my life for two and a half years. My mental health was horrible then but now I’m just happy that I grew out of it. It took me months to tell myself what I was doing was wrong. Thank you for making the video. I think it will help anyone in any other aspect and not just art.

Yeah well said, I hate it when artists do this, I know I do art for fun. But honestly talking about Charli now MOST of her videos are effortless and have millions of likes but other than that people that do this trend are just wrong, I also wish my art would get recognized but what matters is having fun and improving on it.

    Me:*sees that Rae posts *
    * doesn't even read the title but clicks right away*
  • @pau7398
I'm going to be honest. I just clicked for Rae, I don't even have Tiktok
  • @w.o.w552
I can't agree with you more! Art can be anything you want it to be, Charli's dancing is absolutely gorgeous and deserves her fame. She worked for years to get to be where she is today!
  • @BrieIY
I am so happy you posted this. It's so very off-putting and entitled when I see posts like this! Straight up, get your bag, promote your work, but it is not a competition. There is no limit to the amount of accounts you can subscribe to 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is why TikTok is mostly toxic. Please! Everyone on that platform is equal, let everyone enjoy what they are trying to accomplish!
Thank you for saying something. I hate to see artists putting other artists down like that. I just want to appreciate all kinds of art.
  • @islaart_2731
I put hours into my tiktoks...
    I have 30 followers...
But I would never make a video like that it’s pretty much hating on people that’s not fair on the other creator. I’m personally not a fan of Charli but I don’t dislike her. Just because your video doesnt get millions of likes doesn’t mean no one thinks you’re talented

I've seen all these Tik Toks and they say how they spent days to get so little likes. in my opinion you shouldn't do art that makes others happy or for likes. the whole point of art is to express yourself and have a great time. most of the greatest artist were hated as artist yet they are remembered for being the best painters and sculptors. Art is something beautiful that shouldn't be compared to anything else especially dancers and singers. everyone has different opinions on what they like. all art is beautiful in its own way. every creative thing like writing, dancing, and singing is amazing in it own way. I agree with you Rae that people should be doing pity votes saying look she just shook her but and got all these likes while I spent days working on this. Art Tik Tok should be about community and not about like. But I still love your Tik Tok tho.
