I always like hearing from Dr. Chin-Hong. It’s unfortunate that COVID levels are up, especially in high summer, when they’re usually down. It’s not a good sign for the upcoming autumn/winter COVID infection rate. I still haven’t been infected, at least that I know of, I haven’t had an illness since late 2019. I think I will go back to using more exposure precautions, including wearing a mask in areas with lots of people. I never stopped in medical facilities until this summer, but now I’m changing my mind. I’m 64 and my lungs are not in great condition, I nearly died of pneumonia/sepsis a while back and need to minimize my exposure risks. There is also some risk in wearing masks for many of us eyeglass wearers, the complete fogging just can’t be prevented no matter what I try. So, I have had several minor trips and falls while wearing masks. Even those masks with exhalation valves, which protected only the wearer, don’t work well enough and I do want to protect others if I get infected with anything, even a cold. Who wants an illness, even a minor one, if they can be prevented relatively easily?
