Honestly, this first Gear 5 transformation where he taps into it willingly for the first time might be better than when it first happened in Wano. Love this scene, it looks like a movie EDIT For the people saying this isn't the first time he willingly tapped into it, you're technically correct, but he really just temporarily fell out of Gear 5 due to exhaustion, and then quickly tapped back in against the same opponent. This is the first time we've seen him do it against someone not named Kaido, and it had a special feel to it.

I love the moment when he stops being crazy, and turns into an evil laugh while staring. It's like a horror film, you know you're in trouble now.

I love how we as the audience got to see this from Lucci's POV. One moment Luffy is way over there, bouncing around and laughing. An eye blink later, Luffy is right in front of him with his fist already cocked back, no longer laughing, and staring at Lucci with those glowing eyes.

You really have to be the unkillable Kaido to stand a chance against what Luffy becomes in Gear 5. It's actually incredible Kaido took as many blows as he did from this form.

Man the fact that Lucci looked at this form and said it that "It looks very fun" shows that they share weird bond. To everyone else is just ridiculous, but the fighter in him sees that this will be very enjoyable

I think the most interesting thing is that Jinbe seems to know exactly what is going on and knows what that form is when no one else does, not even Luffy.

What i like most about this is how Luffy doesnt ease Lucci into Gear 5 by doing Gears 2-4, he just goes in hard and Lucci is completely caught off guard.
